Sorry - No, am still just lunging daily and putting him on walker 2 hours a day. Taking him back to vets on 20th March and hopefully, they will see enough of an improvement to allow me to ride again.
I have a 5 YO KWPN who I had owned a short while, when my trainer suggested sending to the vets as we were progressing rather well however, the canter was just AWFUL. As though the horse struggled with every stride. Lovely through the trot.
Please note, not signs of lameless and well fit...
I would get X-Rays done personally. Mostly to make sure there isnt any thing under lying, but a close friend on same yard recently took on a 6 year ID X who would occasionally trip (I put it down to how unbalanced the rider was and unfit the horse was), after a particularly big trip on the...

Hi Sprig
Thanks so much for that advise. Didn't actually consider the extra load on the ramp..
Will have a think...
Love the Equitrek's but they are so expensive!!
Can any suggest to me a larger trailer than the Bateson 2013?
My horse is a 17hh Warmblood and normally travels on a lorry however toying with getting a trailer.
However the only time he went in one (Bateson) he rubbed his bottom raw and had a sore dock for a few days where he wedged him...
Thank you so much Sarah
I have no such idea why just those two things were flagged up as areas of concern (by Vet)
Bloods taken after 5 days rest
Hes a 5 YO WB
CK is 189 (102-397) and AST is 313 (169-348)
GLDH was not tested
All so confusing, sure they will get to the bottom of it...
My horse had a change of diet (going from 2 large feeds a day to just hi-fibre cubes) and also worked (Equest Pramox) over the same weekend just over two weeks ago.
Rode on the Monday - all ok, come Tuesday morning had large sweat patch to the lower flack and highlysensitive to touch around...
Two things
1) IF you can ride out with some one else you can follow and build you confidence together
2) Which I've had to do recently with my new one (only if safe and practical to so) - after a quick smack behind the leg with a schooling whip and achieving no forward response, I turn...
I am moving my 16.3 baby over the weekend and being the most accident prone creature that he is - am not taking chances of him getting cast, esp as hes going from an 18 * 12 stable to a 12*12.
He will be on straw with high solid banks
I have Equimats and was thinking of putting up wall...
I think Jack (WB VERY thin skin) has a little allergy as is out in the day and in at night (cant switch which would be my preference) and was coming up in big lumps which would go down by the morning
I bought the Masta full neck fly rug and has helped and as yes hasn't sweated up in it...
I have just introduced my 5 YO WB to lunging and has taken to it very well. Given the limited facilities I have for the next month or so (make that no facilities except a lunge pen and a road for exercise!), I plan on lunging about 3-4 times a week for 20 mins MAX
I'm not about to go hard...
