Frozen. How do you all cope?

Haylege put in field by yard, I went up yesterday to put a 100g rug on retired boy and extra rug on top of heavyweight for thoroughbred, they get the water from the river. Them I went home and I'll next see them at the weekend unless it suddenly heats up... bliss. I am enjoying my break from...

Has anyone else taken a break from riding due to lack of confidence?

Starting mine tomorrow - moving my ridden horse to live out with my retired boy. I'll still go up and feed him every day but other than that I can have my life and money back for a while! Can't wait.

Changing your mind after reading an autobiography - equine riders

Went right of Paul Nicholls after reading his. Although to be honest I never much liked him in the first place. Warmed to Timmy Murphy after his, and even more so to AP McCoy but he can do no wrong in my book :)

Thank you everyone, I really do appreciate your replies :) x

Do you think it's fair to retire a totally sound, well behaved riding horse?

Following on from my other thread, I'm thinking about living my riding horse out for now as I have lost all interest in riding. I've been on the end of some disbelieving looks at my yard about this, they just tell me to get over it and ride or sell him to someone who will make use of him...

Please help me decide what to do with my horse

PandorasJar he's a sweetheart and just does what he's told - he is no different if I ride him every day or once a month, just pootles about like a good boy. He has had a hard life as a busy flat racer and then a rescue case and now he seems to enjoy the quiet life. He's certainly not a horse who...

Please help me decide what to do with my horse

Thanks everyone for your thoughts :D I am swaying towards living him out with the old boy, and perhaps keeping my eye out for a full loaner in the mean time so if the perfect person came along then he could go to them. I dread having to tell people though as you know how judgemental folks can...

Please help me decide what to do with my horse

Apologies in advance, I'm writing this on my phone so there may be umpteen mistakes! I have two horses, my retired boy who lives out happily in a huge field in a herd of 12. Then I have my 13 year old TB who I keep at a DIY yard. I've posted this exact same post before pretty much, but I...

Tell me about lovely bombproof happy hackers please?

Lol, that's good then :D My boy: He was a racer til he was 6, then abandoned for 5 years before my friend rescued him a couple of years ago. I've had him for about a year now. He's perfect to handle and ride, not well schooled or anything at all but so geniune and never spooky or silly...

What rugs are you using atm??

Tell me about lovely bombproof happy hackers please?

I don't suppose mine really counts for this thread as he isn't a weight carrier - he's a 13 year old ex-racer. Bombproof as they come, a true gentleman in every way.. I'm very lucky to have him.
