Yesterday I rode with my iPod in for the first time, and my ponio went amazingly. I put it down to the fact that I wasn't so focused on him and was more relaxed myself. definitely a convert to schooling to music!

So I'm off to my first hunter trials ever with my part loan pony on October! *insert petrified face here* BB is a dales x cob and is all black and extremely hairy! (I'm planning on putting his mane into a running plait) What colours would suit him?

Can someone run me through hunter trial etiquette please? i.e: what to wear, what horse needs to wear, rules etc. Thank you!

My friend bought me a side saddle lesson as my 21st birthday present, and we're going next Thursday! I've always wanted to try side saddle, and I'm so excited!!! Has anyone done it before? What can I expect?

Box walking simply indicates that the horse desires to walk. Increase turnout or if possible put the horse on a walker a couple of times a day. If they still continue to do so, call a vet out as there could be an underlying cause :)

Brilliant thread! I part loan a dales x cob ... after selling my proper horse. I think I'm infected with cobitis.

Hello :) When I sent a saddle, I wrapped the saddle in 4 layers of bubble wrap, then put it inside a box. Make sure its a snug fit so the saddle can't move about. I then filled the gaps with balls of bubble wrap. Hope this helps!
