I agree. It is why I said "seen to be flippantly used to troll". I don't think people who make those comments are trolls but that is the excuse that is all too easily used by those that should take considered comments seriously. I mean if people say that to Queen Ingrid then of course they will...
The trouble with people like her is that they take a nugget of truth and pull in a load of supporters with it but miss the bigger picture out conveniently.
There *is* an issue with people commenting "behind the vertical" on everything with no knowledge. As an example, Ingrid Kilmke posted a...
Interestingly just seen a video from yesterday of Lottie with her up and coming horse, Kjento. It makes a much happier picture. I'm not saying it's perfect but the overall picture is of a much happier and more confident horse and Lottie's riding looks much more harmonious. Kjento is by Negro who...
Muscle tension to enable the horse to perform the movements is fine and why they need to be physically strong enough and be conformationally suited to the job. Stress tension from physical/mental discomfort/pressure is not fine.
Just to point out that Carl (and others mentioned on this thread) are very much involved with this horse and with Lottie. This isn't an isolated rogue rider.
For what its worth I don't think she is riding purposefully to achieve this way of going. I think she is doing the best she can to get...
Horse lorry went over on the m56 the other day in similar weather. I'd travel if I had to, but pick the route very carefully. Given its just a clinic and outdoors, then no, I wouldn't go in this instance.
A win for you would be not being accused of stealing shavings and therefore not having the stress of having to defend yourself. I would just swap to another bedding that they do not use and is easily distinguished from shavings. It might have the added benefit of being better than shavings. I...
I did 3 days at Monte Velho in September. First lesson I got to do a line of tempis but was lucky to have been put on a horse that was capable of them and was also very quiet and obedient (and tolerant!). You do have to show that you are a capable rider to be put on the more advanced horses. The...
In that case I'd self-refer for a full work up and get x-rays of the neck in detail.
I hope you get to the bottom of it as it does sound like there is something else going on!
I can understand your concern as there are some red flags that I would want investigating too. However, a lot of what you have described could just as easily be attributed to a young welsh cross pony not knowing or having the strength to use its body correctly.
You say that you had lessons for...
This seems really sensible. Getting a high score does not necessarily equate to a combination being unsafe to jump but it should raise the question. Anyone watching my 70 score test could not have said that we would be unsafe to proceed but it still allowed the judge to pass their (harsh...
Not sure I should admit this but .... 20+ years ago I did my first event on my arab. We got 70+ in the dressage. We were not out of control or disobedient but she did go around like a giraffe as she was watching everything going on. I think the judge was particularly harsh on us as it no where...
I poo kicked for several years. I'd walk around the field and yeet the poos with a good kick to spread it out. The birds and insects would spread it further and then the rain quickly dissolved anything left. The fields always looked immaculate with no poached or weedy bits and the poo fertilised...
