I started my riding lessons at 7 years old (before that had been on the odd treking pony on holiday) and on my second lesson I fell off in a ditch with the horse momenteraly on top of me,....stil didnt put me off!! 6 is fine if yu have a hardy kid thats loves ponies/horses!
 I still dont know,....I will make a point of taking pics tomorrow if they have grown back. I have no interest what so ever in eating them, I just dont want the girl eating them if they are piosonous :( hope shes got enough grass and sense to leave any be that I missed
OK. Just trying to find something that looks like them on the net (didnt have camera or phone with me to take a pic earlier). They didn't have spots on the top like in your picture. Never had to worry/deal with mushrooms before so never really taken an interest in them! I guess though the ones...
Right, I was moving the girly's fences out a bit today to give her a new strip of grass and I noticed a load of mushrooms. From what I could see, there were 2 types. The first was light stalk and underneath but a very dark brown on top and smelt quite 'woody' and there were loads of them. The...
Thank you all so much again for your kind words and the poem is lovely. I should imagine there will be another floppy eared pup in a box in the not too distant future :) And when that day comes, I shall post up the new addition to the family.
Thanks for all the support :)
Thank you so much for all your kind words. It is so hard, but it was undoubtedly the right choice to make. In her last 2 days she had no quality of life, and it was unfair and selfish to keep her going.
The house feels so empty and it's horrid not to be greeted at the door :(
Just,...well,....needed to voice it. I had to have my 12 1/2 year old German Shepherd PTS yesterday. I had her since she was a baby and still clearly remember the ride home with her,...a little shepherd pup with floppy ears in a card board box. She was very clever, loyal and a strong character...
I knew a 13hh welsh mountain pony who happily carried 12.7stone BUT only for short bursts. I'd say dependant on how fit the pony is and bone and confirmation,....but max 8.7-9stone(with tack)....get someone of that weight to back him and see his reaction. If is uncomfy or struggles, you know to...
Do you have buttercups in your field? As these can 'burn' legs and face with prolonged exposure to them. Not all horses/ponies get it. I am lucky, my mare gets a bit swollen under her chin, but doesnt 'burn'.
That or it could be excessive scrating,...but odd its only on one leg and face.
Mine hasnt been rugged for a few weeks....BUT yesturday I got to her and she was shivering hugley in the rain :0( all her summer coat is now through. So I bought her in, towel dried her off, fed her hay, then rugged her. But shes only in a LW summer rug simply to keep the rain off of her. I...
I'd just like to say, I have a welsh D and the farrier adores her feet, he says they are the best he does and he wishes all of his clients had as good feet as her. Also, she is clever and mischievious with it - she works things out very quickly. Also, being a welshie she is hardy as anything and...
I came across this and it made me smile :D (like this!) and thought I would share!!
