    Trailer Insurance

Hi, I've just bought an IW 510 Classic (excited as my first trailer!); I'm looking for advice/experiences on which insurance companies can offer competitive rates for trailer insurance? I am with Carriage House - who are very competitive for horse insurance, however, the quote was fairly high...

Asking on behalf of friend looking for livery in Burgess Hill/Haywards Heath/Hassocks area; she's heard there are spaces at a yard called Kents Farm, anyone had any experience of this yard. She's looking for a friendly, well run happy DIY yard. Thanks!

    Which breastplate, if any?

Thanks, definitely decided not to pursue the hunting one. I'm keen on the elastic version to give as much freedom of movement; also will consider the 5-point. My boy has a big chests (ID) and powerful shoulders so don't want to restrict him.. Vam, thanks for the link, am looking at them now. :-)

    Which breastplate, if any?

Hello, my 15 year old daughter (5'8 and riding all her life) has taken on my 16'3 7 yr old ID to start his education in XC and SJ training/clinics/comps. She thinks he will need a breastplate and I'm of a mind less is more (he's in a snaffle with only a martingale as he can throw his head up)...

Problem purchases - on the increase?

Yes, am wrestling with it for that reason, ie no point getting them taken if I'm not using them. Think I'll make some further enquiries and see if I can find out the yard he was kept at (not in this area) if so I can make contact with the YO and see what happens. The previous owner didn't do...

Problem purchases - on the increase?

You are so right...you've reminded me of the hours and hours of toil at the local riding school 35 years ago(!) in the vain hope of getting a free ride! Luckily it mostly paid off but even to get there I had to get 2 buses and a 20 min walk both Saturday and Sundays. Kids have def got it far...

Problem purchases - on the increase?

Thanks Nikicb, yes, he is definitely not a problem behaviour-wise. I did consider x-rays at the time but he wasn't hugely expensive, ie just for prelim dressage and pony club/riding club/hacking; with the vetting and 3-year medical history, thought it would suffice..lessons learned! Fingers...
