I have a front unload trailer, but my mare panics and bolts out the front so I just unload out the back. Once she worked out to go straight she's not a problem coming out this way at all and I don't find it an irritation.
My mare had one just in front of her girth which grew and corresponded with a lameness in that front leg. I wasn't sure at the time if it was related, but it seemed very possible that as her leg moved back and forward the sarcoid was getting squashed between her leg and the girth. Not had an...
This post has really touched me and described exactly how I felt about my first ex-racehorse mare who I lost almost 7 years ago at a similar age and after almost 20 years together, she had also been retired for a while due to arthritis.
We weren't world beaters, she didn't have spectacular...
They are definitely food motivated!! :)
It's a pity she can't demonstrate that flexibility when I'm asking her to change from her customary octagons in the school to a nice circle. And when she sets her neck and tanks off with me she does an excellent stiff as a board impression! :D
Oh, I'm not too sure, I think ours was a 4WD.
The quad that I currently use though I just keep it in 2WD while doing both the grading and rolling, however my surface is sand/fibre topped with automotive fibre and the grader really just tickles the surface topper to even it out, I don't want it...
I feed pink mash to my TB mare. Have done for the last two winters and her weight maintenance has been significantly better. I was shocked at how little the quantities are too. Prior to that I used to feed speedibeet and micronised linseed instead but her weight has definitely been better while...
I pay £25 per session (which may be schooling or hacking and probably around an hour although sometimes longer, certainly including turnout/in etc) for someone to ride my mare which includes her bringing her in and tacking her up. I'm not sure she'd be classed as a professional, in terms of this...
I think the only reason I can eat what I do and not be the size of a house, is exactly because all the mucking out, lugging hay, water and shavings bales and mucking out the field is all a fair amount of exercise!
My vets did. I was looking to do a regumate trial and my vet said he had some that had been returned to him from a very trusted client and was happy to let me have it for the cost of what was left in it.
I suspect this is rare though for reasons mentioned above, but as he trusted it would have...
It very much depends on the individual horse and the type of horse too.
My fjord mare is 24 and goes through the Scottish winter with a full clip (partly to help get the weight off her so she doesn't come into spring too fat and partly because she gets rather hot with her wooly mammoth coat if...
Not sure about how they would work for your hoof dimensions, but Ive recently swapped to Flex Boots and am very impressed with them so far. Nice and lightweight and work for my horse throughout her trim cycle.
I'm in the same position as you and have 3 uninsured horses. It is a risk that you will then be hit with a lot of expensive bills and in my experience it always tends to come at once!
I too pay my bills as soon as I receive them and have never even considered the idea of a prompt payment...
Sorry, possibly badly worded. The tow ball itself didn't rattle, it was just that the hitch didn't seem to sit happily on it so I think it was moving around on it or something, it almost felt like the car and trailer were fighting each other. But now that the height of the tow ball is raised...
