Riders 5'10 that ride smaller horses/ponies

I'm 6 foot and won't consider riding anything smaller than 15h as a general rule. Though at 15h it would be a slightly chunkier breed or my legs would look ridiculous. I have actually ridden smaller than that but I'm literally a twig so weight has never been an issue and so I just look a bit...

    Bridlepath now says no access!

my local council put a padlocked gate across my local bridleway making it impossible to access. On OS maps it is marked as a bridleway and so I wrote an angry letter to my local council asking why it had been blocked. Took them weeks to reply but they were quite sympathetic and did re-open it...

That bloody advert is really annoying me!

ad block for Google chrome is an absolute god send. Blocks adverts on youtube too which is a bonus. give it a google. its free. Think the web browser firefox do a similar app as well if I remember correct :)

Any 21 year old Pony Clubbers?

Don't you have an adult pony club near you? My local stables has a pony club for under 18s then one of over 18s? No idea if this is done everywhere but worth looking in to!

    spoke to sharer today..

I was 1 of 2 sharers on a horse and it worked out great. Even though we had 2 days each we would often both go in together for 4 days and get yard work done twice as quick and then would also stay to watch or walk out with when the other rode. Was really useful since we essentially gave each...

If you don't have your own horse but ride do you have riders insurance?

The gold membership with the BHS I think is a good price. Link http://www.bhs.org.uk/Join_Or_Support_Us/Join_the_BHS/Membership_Gold.aspx I looked into it when I was sharing though I didn't need it since I was covered on owners insurance. Considering the riding schools in my area are all...

Daughter had a fall today :-/

I have full sympathy. I broke my elbow falling of my loan horse when I was 10 and had to have it put back together in surgery so know how scary it is! Unfortunately I have no feeling in the arm now because of it but it has it uses. I was one of those horse insane 10 year olds and so didn't put...

    Comfortable wellies/yard boots?

I've got a pair of walking boots but there no good for walking on the hacks since the bridleway has super long wet grass which soaks your legs and so need something with leg cover as well. Also the turnout field entrance turns into a swamp when it rains and so my walking boots would be...

    Comfortable wellies/yard boots?

I really need a pair of comfortable wellies/yard boots that I can wear everyday and walk a reasonable distance in (I share a horse so walk out on hacks when I'm not riding). Made the mistake of walking out in a cheap pair of wellies the other day and my feet basically look like they have been...

    Can someone please look! Anyone?

I know you can work on a yard from the age of 12 in the UK. Obviously there is no minimum wage for people under 16. You wouldn't be making a huge amount of money or working long hours so I don't see why there would be a problem with what you want to do. The price you have given kinda depends on...
