Apologies for not getting to post back sooner. I finished work 11.45pm last night and was up at 5.30 this morning to start all over again. Thank you so much for your replies and views - and for the tip to look into Mountain Horse overtrousers - you've helped me to make my mind up.

What do people prefer? I need to get new waterproofs for the winter but don't know what is best to go for: a full length riding coat to keep all of me warm and dry hacking out through the winter or a short jacket and waterproof over trousers or chaps? Many thanks :)
