I rehomed an older indoor cat from a tiny, tiny London apartment earlier in the year. I was told she doesn't do much, just sleeps on the shelf - but my goodness has she found the fun in life since having the space to play without people and/or dogs in the way.
However, I'm starting to feel...
Ahh I feel your pain! My cat has also decided to start waking me up at 3am for her breakfast and then again 2 hours later for cuddles... I'm thinking it's a seasonal change as she normally wakes me up around 6-7am.
We shall see what happens, but I too need my sleep!!
If I've got this right: primarily you want a nice all-rounder to have a bit of fun on with the hope to breed from her down the line? If that's right, and from the other bits you've said, no my opinion remains the same - I wouldn't consider this mare. Especially as you've mentioned that she's too...
For me, I'd discount this mare. I'd be looking for a proven broodmare, that has her progeny competing/doing what you're looking to do. I'm assuming it's your first time breeding too - so you'd want to look into having the guidance of a professional. Maybe contact stud farms, and see if they have...
We rented our 6/7 acre field out in North Devon - good location (close to the town/buses but equally good hacking too and phenomenal off-road hacking after about20/30mins of lanes). There is water which was charged directly to the renter but no electricity. We rented it out for £200 p/m and it...
Another that unless I had a field or could find grass livery nearby I would PTS.
I wouldn't rehome as a companion as you cannot guarantee who's hands she'd up in.
Out of the two, it would have to be yard B. The distance of the first yard would be too much for me, especially if you're needing to go up a couple times a day.
Personally, I would keep her where she is until she was ready to retire then I'd find a nice retirement livery for her.
Or, if you just end up hacking her, then I'd see if there were any liveries that cater for the semi-retired.
Your horse sounds like she's pretty happy where she is, so I...
Another vote for yard A - although I'd want to triple check what the turnout rules are in winter as I've been stung by the "daytime winter turnout", when in actual fact that was only if it was dry - which winter rarely is!
Well, I bought an unbacked 5 year old last year that had never left the yard it was born on!
For me, the less is better. I wouldn't want to see much more than walk/trot/canter and going round a small 70cm course.
That's absolutely what happens! It makes me so angry how people feel vindicated ruining people's livelihoods because they just joined the bandwagon without knowing all the facts
Thanks ihatework; I wasn't sure if their was a ball point figure for these types, that are just nice RC types.
I had thought 5k would get me something that I can have fun on, and won't need about to worry to much. Maybe I need to re-evaluate that.
