    Clydesdale fans?

DC, those are classic pics :D I hope you were listening very carefully when Storm's head popped into your car. Because Storm was clearly saying "take me to the Ancient Hacker! My pal can sit in the back seat, Sovereign's just a wee chap really" I'm very envious - I've had a zebra pop her...

    Clydesdale fans?

Yippee, more eye candy to feed my shrivelling soul! I've been absent due to the awful experience of having to put down one of my boys - he did a tendon, presumably while cavorting in the paddocks; no amount of scans, equine vets, second opinions, third opinions etc could offer any conclusion...

    Penicuik Rideout 2013 *PICS*

Well, riding in the snow would certainly be a novelty for me  but we only live once so I think I might do it, but I'm going to have to rely on the Penicuik contingent here to make sure I hire myself a non-spooker, and not breach any weird dress codes I may be unaware of! :D

    Penicuik mid-week ride-out

Daren, I'm sorry - that sounds like a wasted summer, at least as far as equine activities go. Very bad luck indeed, but as with many a fall I guess we can be glad it wasn't more serious AND of course the artwork remains intact.;)

    Penicuik Rideout 2013 *PICS*

Daren you are such a stoic, holding that standard despite the fall last week. The Rideout looks lovely too. It makes me want to come over next year and do it, not least because I can't pronounce "Penicuik"! So if anyone can swear that I will find a calm and safe hireling, and it won't snow...

    Penicuik mid-week ride-out

Daren, sorry about that - I've face-planted many a time when horses have selected a different direction from mine - and sorry about the shoulder. You mentioned an op; the surgeons won't be interfering with any Clydesdale tattoos on the process I trust? Feel better, and hope you mend...

    Thrush? (pics)

OP Your pic is there now, but my server is inexplicably slow so the whole pic didn't download. In my experience, I can smell the thrush immediately, before I even pick up a foot. It's a very specific kind of smell (how I imagine rotting mushrooms would smell!) and I usually clean carefully and...

Finally I'm starting to believe we may be ok for Royal Cornwall!

QB, lovely to see the update. What I'm enjoying is seeing the process of preparation (the snide criticisms aside, of course) and the commitment and pleasure it's giving you. I take my hat off to you for the plaits, which might not be perfect, but are infinitely better than anything I can manage...

    Clydesdale fans?

Hello Abbijay - thank you! Yes, I'm trying to rummage through all potential sources through this thread, and on the web. Unfortunately there are unscrupulous dealers dotted around the planet, that can make things more difficult for the genuine breeders, so I am approaching with caution. I'm...

    Clydesdale fans?

The Budweiser stuff on youtube is fabulous, isn't it Daren! I don't often feel envy in the true sense over anything, but I'm afraid the Budweiser horses make me quite jealous! AND I don't even like beer :p Brontie I have no idea about Clydie or Shire prices but I shall no doubt find out soon...

If your horse stood like this (lame)

Likewise, which is unfortunate; my one that needs tubbing will not countenance it! I wonder if there are some special tips? I can't even get him to tub while eating, and normally a bomb could go off without distracting his snout from the trough

    How do you pronounce...

I'm old and we always said britches (at Pony Club it was always "b*tches in britches for the kids who turned up with all the gear and no idea ;)) But we may well have been wrong - at least in the pronunciation!;) Gilet definitely has the silent T as mentioned above; but what about a fillet...

    Charity for North Wales farmers?

Perhaps Pale Rider has forgotten about foot-and-mouth. (foot-in-mouth, in this case?) And all the other crises that beset framers. Looking in from the outside, it seems to me that the bureaucracy and red-tape of farming in the UK generally would drive me to drink, without the assistance of...

    Clydesdale fans?

As advised by Daren, here goes: I need all the help I can get! I probably mentioned the hubby decided after 20 years of mucking out and pushing wheelbarrows but never riding, "I wouldn't mind a Clydesdale". This is a (doubtless expensive) opportunity not to be missed :D And as we have lots...
