    Extemer wind......

It's telling me it's 9 degrees on my desktop at work! It was really, really horrible the early hours of this morning and when I got up at 6 to turn the horses out and muck out etc it still hadn't died down. I felt bad turning them out, they just stood there looking surprised, they'd been tucked...

    Tails

My yearling who went to his new home over the weekend did but not sure how much! Time will tell I suppose. He's only 6 so old age can't be getting the better of him yet I hope. Ha ha! I never brush it and try to leave it well alone so it's very annoying.

    Tails

My New Forest used to have a lovely, full thick tail and it's just become more wispy and thin the older he's got. He's not got worms, sweet itch or anything like that. Is there anything I can use or treat with to encourage it to go back to what it was?!

    What colour?

Just taken this photo of google as an example... What colour sheepskin half pad and saddle pad suit this sort of coloured pony? I've seen a very nice saddle pad by Eskadron in rose (a lovely baby pink) with grey binding I like. Pony has dark brown tack and not sure what sheepskin colour...

    Loan crisis

What a nightmare for you, so close to Christmas as well... I think everybody else has given you the best advice so I don't have anything else to suggest but just wanted to say I hope you and your daughter get the mare.

    Once its sold.........its SOLD!

I've just found a home for my little lad who some of you know I unfortunately didn't have a choice but to sell ASAP. I believe he's gone to a good home and the girl who has bought him has been ever so understanding and kind to me saying that I can go and visit if I'd like to and we have each...

After a four year break I have a horse coming on Sunday :)

A hoof pick! I'm sure you've included this in your grooming kit but I managed to forget this?! A salt lick or something for in the stable? A torch? :) Good luck, very exciting for you :D

    Why does everyone hate coloureds??

I can appreciate a nice piebald but I don't think I'd seek a coloured out to buy for myself. My best friend bred her own coloured from her mare, he's lovely but not my cup of tea personally.. He'll be perfect for what she wants though and she's happy with him so that's what matters! My other...

Oh dear Lord! - Time to move??

Mine are both out although I did not enjoy turning them out in the howling wind and rain at 5.30am this morning. I'm not sure they did either... Our field isn't bad right now, they've only been on it for a week.

    Kick me when I'm down!

To those who read my previous topic about having to find a new home for my youngster as I have split with my partner and am now not able to keep him as I will need to move out etc. A couple of you advised that I should contact his breeder, so I did today - via email as he had ignored my previous...

Horse Cremation Services - I've had a horrible thought.

I've not read all the replies on here but are you allowed to bury your own horse or pony if it's on your own land for example? That's what I think I'd like to do if it was possible.

How much to charge for DIY livery?

I was charging £50 every 4 weeks to a couple of my friends who kept their horses on our yard. That was for stable and field only. We have good hacking but no facilities, they buy all their own bedding/haylage etc. They sort out turning out/bringing in between the 2 of them so I don't get...

    Are there options?

About 3/4 minutes drive from Prescott Equestrian Centre if you know it? Near Baschurch. I couldn't ask them to take 2, I'd feel like i was taking advantage. They are being incredibly helpful as it is but it's a nice idea!

    Are there options?

My other little chap came back off loan almost a year ago. The family adored him and are happy to take him under their wing again until I'm back on my feet which is incredibly kind. Wonderful people! I'll take a look on BD - thanks, didn't think of that
