    I can't believe "our friend"is still trading

I find this very interesting...not David but how influencial a group, such as H&H can be in a situation like this. It really is amazing, by putting the spot light on him (not in a good way) people have managed to force his adverts off the web. Its great that someone noticed and brought it...

    Allergy

You should find that the more you expose yourself to them the better you will get around them. It may also not be the horses but something at the yard that you werent exposed to before.

    String Test? Guestimating Adult Height

I dont know about foals, but I believe the long bones are basically at full height by two. If you measure elbow to fetlock and then keep your point on the elbow and flip the string up that is where their withers should end up. But you have to do it when they are older, not a foal.

    collateral ligaments

Thanks, I think we have a good plan of action so far. My vet hasnt pushed the mri but I may ask about it again. Insurance would cover it. But I think as puddicat mentioned the treatment will be the same. Box rest, bandages and a strick rehab program. My only concern is that she is so large...

    Clipped Horse

I try not to clip this late because you end up clipping the summer coat as well. If the they normally shed out alright then try grooming more to encourage them to shed. If they are really overheating you have to clip. Just make sure you can keep them warm when they need to be. Still groom lots...

what do you think my chances are?

You have to remember that the examiner can see the type of horse you are riding too. They may give you extra points because you sat so well on such a bouncy horse. They know what they are doing!

    Pre purchase photos

When ever I sell I always send conformation photos first. I dont want to waste my time showing the horse to someone if a splint or whatever is a big deal to them. On that note I dont tend to buy or sell horses with poor conformation so I have nothing to hide in sending photos. But I agree...

    Gutted - opinions please

How are her soles? Maybe she has soft soles and that is why it takes awhile before she gets sore and then rest makes them better. Also could explain why a farrier visit made it worse...ask your farrier about it.

    collateral ligaments

Thats good to know, the vet took the shoe off and said similar things. I have an excellent farrier that works with the vet so I am confident in his work. My vet also mentioned that the only way to confirm was an mri b/c you cant unltrasound the area where they are. I'm glad that the two...

    collateral ligaments

In her left front foot...vet has given me a schedule. I was just wondering if anyone has worked a horse back with this type of injury. She is a big girl, 17hh and broad. Very athletic. But I would be happy if she was pasture sound to play, she doesnt have to work much other than the flat...

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions about rehab and treatment for collateral ligaments? My mare has pulled hers, she is bandaged and on box rest but would appreciate some feedback and pointers... Thanks

    Taking the bit

Ok, if he is simply raising his head try the pressure exercise at the top of his head. Also try the halter on and the bridle over top. DONT tie him while you are putting the bridle on simply have the halter and lead so that he cant get out of your reach. Make sure you praise him everytime...
