    Prices for a decent Allrounder

Yes I must let them know. Had around €2500 in mind (apologies should have mentioned I'm in ireland!) but wasn't sure due to her age and the bit of nervousness. Selling as I passed her on to my sister last year and she has lost interest, pony has only been ridden once every 2/3 weeks since about...

    Prices for a decent Allrounder

Thank you :) she is exceptionally safe, never bucks/rears/naps in any way. She can be left out in the field for weeks and you can hop up bareback with a headcollar and ride her up the yard. My 10 year old sister often hacks her out on the road as well.

She is 110% sound (touch wood!). Only problem we ever had with her was that she developed a splint last Christmas very close to tendons which caused heat in lower leg. Perfect now though :)

    Prices for a decent Allrounder

Hi guys, hope that it's okay for me to ask this here! I'm looking to try and sell my pony, 14.2h 15 year old Connemara X mare. The trouble is, I have no idea what price to put up? I don't want to overprice her but then again I'm afraid that I think she is worth more as I love her to pieces :D...

Pony taking advantage of young rider-help!

I'll try to keep this as brief as possible so ease bear with me :D have a 13.2h gelding, usually an absolute saint when jumping, be it cross country or show jumping. He was previously ridden by my sister who got him when she was 12 and had him 3 years. He flew round all novice hunter trial...

Are neck pieces necessary for fully clipped horses?

Thanks guys :) I will probably use a no fill one on both of them and then adjust according to the weather. TB type seems to get cold easily but haven't clipped him before so will see what suits him this year. Mare should probably be ok with a no fill neck (might not need one at all) as she is...

Are neck pieces necessary for fully clipped horses?

First off I would like to apologise for yet another clipping/rugging post! :D Just wondering about people's opinions of neck pieces on heavyweight rugs. Previously would have thought them necessary for a fully clipped horse but somebody said to me that really they are designed to be used in much...

Does falling off make you a better rider?

This is the exact same for my sister and I, she just has to look at a horse and its a trip to A&E :D I have had some bad falls yet have walked away unscathed somehow?? Including one where I was thrown off onto the road and kicked in the face - just got a tiny cut on my cheek. Touch wood that I'm...

    Arena floodlight ideas

Hi guys! Absoloutely dreading the thought of winter at the moment 😭 cold, dark days with little daylight to ride in....brrrrr!! These are the days I wish for an indoor arena! So that got me thinking, is there any cheap way to light an arena? The one I use is only 20x30 so probably...

Safety tips - things you've learned

Be very careful when using metal jump cups. Sister fell off yesterday into the wing of the fence and knocked the poles out of the cups before catching her leg on one. 30 stitches in A&E last night 😁 it had never even occurred to me before now! Also, don't leave any cups on wings without...

Turning away horse during exam year - thoughts?

Thanks for the replies guys :) not sure what year 11 is as I'm in Ireland but I'm in my last year of secondary school here! I think that I have sorted out a plan of action for both horses so fingers crossed it will work :D I was going to ask my sister to do one for me but she had to get 30...

    Grooming kit must haves?

I use blue washing up liquid from Lidl to clean white tails, works a treat! Also works really well on their bodies too :)

Sharing experiences - good or bad?

Thank you :) those would definitely be good things to state in a contract!

Sharing experiences - good or bad?

That sounds exactly what I would be looking to do. Basically I just need someone happy to keep the horse ticking over by riding twice, maybe 3 times if they wanted to, during the week. If you could PM me the agreement you had that would be really great thank you :) I would be very conscious of...

Sharing experiences - good or bad?

All I want is somebody to come and ride, I'll do all mucking out etc as I'm one of those weird people that enjoys doing it :D what does a contract usually entail if you don't mind me asking? :)
