At New Yard we can go out as long as we want in winter the only rule is they can't stay out all night and have to come in but ours go out 7.30am to 6.30pm most days. We still have grass and the fields apart from gateway are pretty mud free but do have their boggy patches but I'm definitely not...
I am going through a 6ft bale of hay a month at the moment between 2 they are out from 7.30am till 6pm most days but we are about to add a 3rd so probably be 2 6ft bales a month / 6 weeks I think. Only 3 more months and 24/7 turnout starts 😁

The crack does start from the coronet band 1 side grows in normally and the other had a slight bump which is where he most likely hollow part is.
