OK, THANKS to both of you so far! It doesnt seem logical not to reach around him tum-tum!-- will recheck if saddle fits well on his back; I'm using a "close fit" fleece pad for English saddle... maybe should try a more cotton quilt? And YES, I am in US, Wisconsin -- I'll definitely look at that...
