I currently loan a horse on a yard near my house. Ive been friends with the YO for 8 years and known her for a lot longer. The yard is never full YO always has a few boxes spare and plenty of acreage. The horse I loan is a good schoolmaster type for flatwork and small jumps (less than 2ft9)...

    Riding lessons

I am just wondering who would pay for a lesson from someone who wasnt a qualified/experienced riding instructor or competing at a high level in their chosen equestrian event? I would prefer to have a lesson with someone who had the appropriate levels of experience and having qualifications to...

    Boggy field

I agree with those who are saying fence off a patch and let her waste it. All our horses go onto a 10 acre paddock halfed (halfed for mare and geldings) every winter and it gets trashed. The hay ring had a bed of hardcore around each and every year it comes back up fine with just a roll and...

Barefoot horses and hardstanding - HELP please!

You would need to put a fair bit of sand down ontop of the membrane, We have a hardcore hardstanding, not road planings but not the big chunky stones either, laid it then rolled over it with the JCB to flatten it about 5/6 years ago and its never moved but you can dig at it and the horses still...

    Feeding straights

We have an ROR on yard, he is fed Alfa oil, flaked maize(corn), power and performace, linseed meal and beetpulp. If he needs any extra for competitons he gets a heaped round scoop of oats split between two feeds. He looks fit but covered and this gives him plenty of energy and power but doesnt...

Looks like a lovely venue great for you to have something that good so local to you. Looks like a lovely little pony you have there :D Can I ask though that clip you have done is rather strange looking, why did you take her legs off? Not having a go but I have never seen a clip like that. Its...
