    Best selling sites....

Found them useless. Word of mouth still seems to be the best way.

    Restoring energy fields??

Apparently in Germany it is quite acceptable for a doctor to prescribe a placebo, as long as they explain to the patient that it is a placebo.

    Restoring energy fields??

I found it quite amusing that one of the energy therapists who helped me was a biologist. She found it infuriating that she couldn't offer a rational scientific explanation for what she was doing!

    Restoring energy fields??

Actually not that expensive in my experience. Not conversation based - usually fairly quiet sessions. It is easy to criticise people for using these therapies when you don't suffer from a chronic illness which conventional medicine has no answers or treatment for.

    Restoring energy fields??

As an ME/CFS sufferer, I have used a variety of energy therapies over the years. Some work, some don't. May be placebo effect but if it helps, who cares? Oddly, one energy therapist worked on our young cat who had suddenly stopped eating. Vets couldn't find out why and could offer no treatment...

Why can there not be a system where all vets histories can be linked together for a potential buyer?

Sorry if you been having problems but what you are suggesting is not practical in the real world. Every vet practice in the UK would have to replace their computer systems and keep paying for upgrades. I can see how well that would go down with clients who are already moaning about veterinary...

    Mud Dreadlocks

They come off naturally any way. Why do you need to take them off? They don't do any harm and don't bother the horse.

    First day and horse kicked

Glad things are turning out OK but do try and be aware that some horses tolerate rather than enjoy being groomed. We have had two, perfectly well mannered and easy to handle, but preferred grooming to be kept to a minimum. Neither were thin-skinned, it was just their personality.

Would this be an unreasonable request to make?

Sorry but as someone who had to select people for interview, I would plead with people not to "apply for everything". We were regularly inundated with completely unsuitable applicants who made it far more difficult to pick for interview the people who a) were genuinely interested in the job and...

    Possible Loan Advice?

Had several sharers and horse was always on full livery. We charged 1/7th of weekly livery charge per day which was a bargain as that didn't include shoeing, rugs, insurance, vet bills..... Horse was ideal for novice rider. But I would agree that you would need more than 6 months experience. As...

Can an older horse really learn new stuff?

My first driving horse was broken to drive at the age of 14. She loved it and became as bombproof in harness as she had been under saddle.

Horsebox insurance and breakdown cover recommendations please

NFU have been brilliant every time. Even offered to organise vet when I mentioned we had left show early as horse seemed unwell.

    Lunging advice needed

What age is your horse? I know you have had a vet check but dislike of being lunged was the first indication my pony gave that he was developing arthritis. He didn't become dangerous or aggressive but was clearly not enjoying it. It took 2 visits from my very competent practice plus x-rays to...

How many times have you clipped your horse so far since september?

Out of interest, why? We have had various horses with various clips and at least two would have been miserably sweaty if we had stuck to this. Native is clipped all the year round.

    Laid back or shut down?

Thanks. I would say from our brief meeting it is definitely alert and interested. My groom got down in case the rider needed any help as she was looking a bit nervous and the horse had a good sniff round him and his pockets! I will pass all this on to her.
