Ok. *Take a breath*
Freejump stirrups - I think they’re ugly,
Monoflap jump saddles (I Like feeling a saddle beneath me and before the horse),
Diamonte brow bands,
Pointless sheepskin on nosebands (I have some on my travelling leather headcollar by why on the bridle?),
Filling haynets, urgh...
The heels were very good, the vet said she’s got a good amount of heel and has good confirmation so addressing the balance should be easy.
Yeah it’s just seeing what this swelling is - if it’s ringbone then obviously it’s a no from me but only one way to find out. Just hate that it’s...
Ahh thank you! I hate it not being dealt with by my own vet! So frustrating! I’ve actually booked in with a different vet for a second opinion on a trot up and because they will do onsite X-rays and they’ll send all the findings to my vet as well as the vet that did the initial vetting. I...
Ok so it’s been a while since I’ve posted but I need to get somethings off my chest regarding a failed vetting on a potential new horse yesterday that has left me all of a pickle!
Said horse passed all flexion tests and every aspect of vetting aside from two things. The vet told me that...
If you want a gp cut, Le Mieux do a lovely peacock green which looks fantastic on a chestnut, unfortunately they dont seem to sell it in the close contact cut which drives me insane :(
If fitted correctly its a good bit of kit but a lot of people, Ive found, are uneducated in regards to it. A friend had one on her horse very successfully, but was very rudely spoken to at a local competition by two other competitors and their entourage telling her you should never ever jump a...
Travel boots all round, tail guard with bag, quarter guard and fully tacked up. Mine is accident prone and has cut herself before, also when shes being tricky to load shell catch herself on the ramp. Its strange for a fair amount of you say you travel without, and I see why. But Ive seen my...
My ISH in full work and out most weekends (only unaff level though) gets clipped normally three times. Once mid October, once mid November and then normally again mid December and thats lasts through till spring.
Yep. This has been declared the week for it. I clipped the two at work, one cob who is kept all year round and the other an eventer, first clip of the year. Im doing my own the end of this week and everybody else on the livery yard has started clipping out those in work.
I use littlemax and love it, I dont like tiny little saw dust kind of shavings like Hunters (I also cant afford the £8.95 they are in the midlands) and equally dont like too big a flake as I dont find it absorbent enough and my grey mare like poo stains. I find little max a good compromise...
In my opinion it depends entirely on the horse. If I have ridden them more then a few times before getting them then straight away, it would be no different then going to a competition to be in a new environment. If Ive only sat on them once or twice then I let them settle in for the day, and...
Thankyou guys! I did worry that I'd bitten off a bit more then I could chew having only taken her out to pony parties twice since June and both were dressage. I'd only jumped a handful of times before this as well, but as I'd had this planned in my head since the week after her kick in December...
Yes the rain came down quite literally the minute I finished my individual!
Thankyou, it's a good job she's pretty!
Wowowow that's fantastic congratulations! No stopping her now then!
I don't think I've ever really popped a proud post on here. But I'm so over the moon I couldn't help myself. It's long, I'm so sorry but I can't help myself. They'll be mcflurries all round at the end I promise!
For anybody that didn't know, my lovely horse is a bit quirky and special. Her...
