    Short girth recommendations

Mattes really are worth the money. They wear and wash well and every horse i've used them on has like them. I will but popping one on vinted in the next week or so as i lost the horse it was for and its too small for the new girl.

    Stubben freedom bridle

I have had horses go really well in them and a friends horse refuses to go in anything else. Like anything, what suits one doesn’t suit another.

Recommendations for low sugar & starch mash

    Spillers speedy mash.

    Training treats

Omega do great treats which are in what appear to be excellent flavours - Coconut or as mine prefer, toffee apple. They are somewhere between a nut and a normal treat and often break in half which is handy.

An interesting read on the stress for a horse of moving to a new location

Def saw this with my new mare. At 6 was moved from where she had lived at home all her life to a small yard to be sold. I bought her 6 weeks or so later and moved her to my yard where they go into isolation for 3 weeks. Thankfully there was another new arrival and they isolated together and she...

    Quality Bridles

Another vote for Wolds Exclusive Bling - just waiting for my second bridle at the min. First one was done during lockdown with remote fitting/measuring and is still immaculate. This one Lara came out to work out what we needed.

Nice exercise sheet that sits well

Thermatex quarter sheet - gutted they aren't in business anymore as i need a bigger one for my new horse. Also quite like the Protech Masta range.

Redpost are always amazing to deal with. Houghton Country also decent. Horse bit bank - bit i ordered was a little delayed, emailed to let me know asap. Turned out they couldn't get it so immediately asked if i wanted an alternative, said i would try those i already had and money was refunded...

    Delayed gastric emptying

Not yet, have tried to avoid mash/soaked feed in the first instance as think she would go through it too quickly. Shes coping on chaff and haycobs which still mean she has to chew so takes a little longer to eat. Will certainly add the haycare if i need to though. If we can keep her...

    Delayed gastric emptying

My mare has recently been diagnosed with this (i posted at the time so you should be able to find the thread) but we have caught it before there has been a food ball. She was being scoped for the third due to recurring ulcers. Currently we appear to be managing the condition and i've started...

    Bone Bruise Foot - Recovery?

Hi, we did the pen rest and she totted up sound so she went back out in the usual field then started walking. Initially in hand then under saddle but as soon as we trotted she wasn't quite right (by this point we are at early October). At this point we decided to take her shoes off and turn...
