Mini-rant: Getting your horse to go "down on the bit"

Dear all, I think you have taken my description completely the wrong way! My instructor describes it as cogs, when you get the hind leg tracking up that turns another cog, which in turn, turns another cog which lowers the head. She says the horse has to be going forward in order for it to...

    point 2 air jacket

Get some very bright/neon tape or vet wrap and wrap it around the bottom and top of the cord. Then when you look down it will remind you to unclip. Also my 5yo,15hh quite spooky mare wasn't bothered when I fell off, she just looked at me very puzzled.

Mini-rant: Getting your horse to go "down on the bit"

She insists the horse is going lovely but I'm sure the horse isn't very comfortable. I've always been told to have a...

    Saddle slip?

My new horse has a big shoulder which keeps causing my saddle to slip back a few inches, i've been using my friends breastgirth but need to buy my own and wondered what would be better to stop the saddle from slipping: a five point breastplate or a breastgirth. Any ideas?:)

Badminton horse equipment prices- cheaper or more expensive?

Going to Badminton Horse trials this year, very excited! :D Was meant to go last year but of course the rain ruined it :C Anyway just bought (subject to vetting) a new horse so will need lots of new equipment. I've heard there are lots of stalls there but wondered if it is cheaper to buy horsey...

New horseyy!! :D Following on from: Names for dapple grey issshhh mare.

After finally deciding on a name, mother and I have turned slightly superstitious and decided (after a tiny hiccup riding today- not the new horsey's fault!) to just shorten Betty to Bette. :p

Names for dapple grey issshh mare!

I like Belle ;)) Noticed under your picture it said 'Ireland' This horse has just been imported from Ireland and is a bit sensitive behind the saddle flap and around its ears. I hear that the Irish (not meaning to stereotype in anyway!!) twitch the horses ears quite alot so that explains her...
