Yes! Splashed out £80 on a lovely combo for it to be chewed up and destroyed within about 3 weeks! *trudges over to ebay to look for secondhand bargains*
Sharing is supposed to be fun! i think it really depends on what kind of person you are, if it truly hasnt put you off, then continue (If you arent already then I suggest get yourself insured!) but if I were you I would definitely look for something else. he doesnt really sound like he has many...
I agree with what others have said, does he lift a leg or try to kick? Regardless, do be careful if youre going to poke him in the bum! Maybe start with something a bit longer than a hoof pick in case he takes offense! At nearly 7 I would be expecting decent manners from a horse, so annoying...
1/10th isnt anything to worry about I think unless you want her as a top competition horse. It could just be a slightly tight muscle or something - i think a lot of horses can look lame some days! Also depends on the vet, another vet might not have seen it and passed her.
Many studies done on this - a lot of people seem to be stuck in their ways of 'oh I used to do it all the time and my horse lived until 27 so how bad can it be' kind of thing, but no, it is not beneficial. Walking on the roads yes, trotting for more than a few minutes a day, no no no! The bone...
Do you think?? Arghh what should I say, like ask if they've found someone or ask if they've had a chance to look at applicants yet? I dont want to look desperate (although i totally am haha) I feel like there is a fine line between looking desperate and looking keen?
My local riding school advertised on facebook for a part time groom, just wanted people to send in their CVs and a cover letter which I did. I haven't yet had an email back or a phonecall from them - I was just wondering how long you think I should give it before I assume they don't want me lol...
Hi all,
I really need some help, please does anyone who had used an equi-ami lunging aid (not riding aid) have anything bad to say about it? This is for a university assignment. I have scoured and scoured the internet and there are no bad reviews at all, and personally I cant fault them apart...
Thank you all for your replies and advice! I was offered the position but unfortunately as I don't drive it turned out to be too difficult to get to so I had to turn it down - I managed to get there and its not too much of a walk but its on country lanes with no footpatg and lots of blind...
Thank you all so much! Will definitely just ask how they want things doing and get to know their exact routines!
With regards to the riding I'm hoping they are fairly calm horses! Won't ride anything I'm uncomfortable riding and I think I will say I wouldn't like to hack in horrible weather...
I've managed to get a job trial in 3 days time as a weekend groom on a small privately owned yard, will be around 6 hours per day, doing all the usual chores for 6 horses including a mare and a foal, including riding a couple (mainly hacking I think)
Are there any do's and don'ts in particular...
I am just about to move my pony to a new yard that is down the road from me (current yard is miles away on an irregular bus route and I don't drive) new yard is quite nice, great turnout, nice big stables with own tack room, gorgeous new menage, only downside is there isnt a great lot of...
I'm needing to get my ponies back checked but don't know who to use?
Not too sure what is wrong, but hes been resisting the bit a lot on the left rein, head in the air, something obviously wrong. Going to get his teeth checked too but don't know who to use for his back, should I be looking for...
