No pearls of wisdom I'm afraid but I just wanted to say wow, what a wonderful selfless owner you are and how lucky is Tessy to find you. Whatever the outcome is, I know you will do the right thing just from reading this post. Lots of love and masses of luck xxx
Hi Megan, so sorry to hear you're having to retire your lovely boy its devastating. But honestly - devastating as it is for us, for them it can be the biggest present we can give them - the chance to be a horse. Not many horses get a chance to fully retire and be a horse, freak accidents etc...
I refer to myself as a "trainer" - the word instructor just sounds like someone who barks instructions whilst a trainer actually trains if that makes sense? However I have no objection when people refer to me as their instructor! Just what I call myself :)
Oh YAY so pleased to hear he's coming home!! :D :D
Honestly its the best thing - when Crumpet went in he was so touch and go and when we brought him home I grinned from ear to ear and stood in the back with him the whole hour and a half journey home! Then when I put him out into the field I...
Oh bless you it's awful leaving them isn't it. My beautiful boy Crumpet got rushed in to the RVC a couple of years ago and we nearly lost him - they took incredible care of him but he was also very "homesick" is probably the word for it... i actually took one of my tops with me and one of...
He's just a baby - still at that very gangly and weak stage. I'd be more concerned at that age if he had a big cresty neck or actual muscle. Our baby was a fabulous foal, a real ugly duckling as a yearling and has now matured into an elegant and powerful rising 4yo. The problem these days is...
He's a gorgeous boy.
I retired my beautiful dancing partner 2 years ago following firstly a mystery illness which nearly killed him and then a freak accident resulting in a nasty injury. My theory like you was he's worked his gorgeous mincey little bottom off for me, we've had some amazing...
Hi Girl Friday
I do see where you're coming from - and thank you for wording it so nicely and constructively! :) - but i think this is where the UK has gone soft. No doubt all of these crimes will be blamed on broken homes, mental health, drugs, and lenient / non existent consequences in place...
Hi All
In light of all the horror stories I have seen in particular over the last year, and most recently after the devastating arson attack at Elmwood Equestrian Centre, I don't want to sit back and just think how awful things are... Things need to CHANGE. So I have created this petition...
Hi Extreme
To get you off on the right foot you want to minimise protein and oil - this is because protein and oil make the liver work hard in order to process it and you want to minimise the amount of work the liver is doing.
For chaff, something like Denigie Hi Fi Lite is ideal as it's very...
ooh I'm in Northampton too. We are in one of the best places in the country for fabulous venues - nearby is Moulton, Keysoe, Addington, Bury Farm, Cherwell Valley, Abbey Farm and that's literally a fraction of them. Not sure about livery in your area (we are more towards Towcester) but good luck...
Craig Millard at Tower Farm is fabulous. He's also a top dressage rider so really knows his stuff and looks at the horse not "just" the saddle if you see what I mean. I've heard good things about their other fitter too (Emma I think or Sophie - brain fade sorry) but have myself only had Craig out.
