I recently had a 12.2 kids pony 2 stage vetted before I bought him. I have one field ornament, I really don't want another. The vet I use is a fellow horsey Mum and knew exactly what I was after and what minor imperfections I can cope with. Personally I found the reassurance i needed from the...
I had a moment like this when I was pregnant with my second. Pouring with rain, dog going nuts, pony shouting his head off for his feed, daughter announced she needed a wee NOW so I am battling with the travel potty in the boot, then I sneeze and wet myself a bit too!!!!! Had a proper panic that...
Congratulations. Not for everyone but I've found the best solution for me was/is to rent a field, buy a decent shelter and divide a corner off for a safe place for the kids to be. I have an old boy who is very low maintenance and now, after my second child I have retired him. I can just about...
My cats and dog have never got on but we manage with the cats living upstairs (and sometimes at my neighbours or in their garden) and the dog downstairs separated by a gate. Its not an ideal situation but its tolerable, just so to let you know even if they don't get on you could probably manage...
I've a SleekEZ and it works really well, better than the shedding blade i previously favoured. It is a bit expensive for what it is though...basically a junior hacksaw blade mounted in a piece of wood!

Poultry spice and meal worms. I had two with bald bits after another pecked their feathers out, they remained bald for a good few months after the offending feather pecker was removed. I made a mash with layers pellets, boiled water, poultry spice and meal worms that they wolfed down and was...
My friend used to use a long bit of baler twine looped through the dogs collar if she needed to lead him from her horse. That way if needs be she could drop one end and the dog would be free without having to unclip.
Sorry to hear your horse has laminitis :( I have no experience of it first hand but I do have a fatty pony and when I soak his hay its for no longer than an hour....this article helps explain http://www.horsefeedblog.com/2012/04/hay-soaking-all-washed-up-or-good-management/
Hahahahaha! Completely empathise with you ladies, this is also me. My husband doesn't understand why I don't like taking small child and crazy dog to the field with me, everything just takes soooo much longer and is so stressful. My 2 year old is desperate to 'help', can't wait until she is big...
