Thanks :) What size of Rugged did you order vs your usual size? I would normally order 28/12 but my local shop are showing these as 28/14? I wonder if they are taking into consideration the 'generous' fit and I should still order 28?

Thank you for your replies so far! Amiee - what style of Shires do you have? Are they jods or breeches? Shooting Star - I do wonder if the style of the Shires breeches just doesn't fit me as even the 30 wasn't comfortable at all! Acorn - It really is confusing, seems like it's quite normal...

Hi All Sorry for the long post! I'm looking for decent quality breeches not more than about £70, trying out breeches as I have very short legs and always end up cutting a good few inches off jods. I'm 5'4, UK size 12, 30/30 in topshop jeans for example, bigger hips/bum, smaller waist...
