    When to give up?

Just thought I'd post a quick update after this thread. So the weekend after I went up to my trainers yard for an xc lesson where she gave us some tips. She also suggested hunting but im not really into that but there was a hunt ride on the next day. Instructor took her 4* horse and we followed...

    When to give up?

Thanks for your replies everyone, just for some background, he has been regularly ridden by a pro and xc schooled by them although never taken to a hunter trial or anything. Im confident its not nerves on my part, im relatively experienced and have evented 100 on previous horse. His stops aren't...

    When to give up?

We do a bit of both. If there's something specific I want to work on or if were at a clinic or lesson then its stop start but i also hire venues and walk myself a course and try and ride round it as if it was an event. I'm just starting to wonder whether he would be more suited to pure sj

    When to give up?

Not always, hes super inconsistent. Sometimes he will jump scarier looking fences and then he will stop randomly at a log. Today he jumped the ditch combination like a total pro and then stopped some other much easier fences

    When to give up?

Just having a bit of a think about my horses future after our one day event. Ive done 3 in total now and had a similar day. Always starts with a sub 30 dressage and a clear show jumping. Onto the cross country and he is just so inconsistent. Some fences he is totally up for and super confident...

    Freelance Instructors North East

I use Will Murray and Emma Hawksby. Will charges £40 for the hour for jumping and we normally split that between 3 of us. Emma is similar I think. Theyre both fab! I love my lessons with them

Video Idea for a bit of fun...Share your images/vids from your favorite rounds.

I'm not sure if this link will work but this is me and Ernie doing the 100 at Allerton Park. I just remember loving every second of this and Ernie cruising round like it was easy for him, we had such a brilliant day...

Thanks for your advice everyone. We have found a suitable breeder and our fully health checked kc registered puppy will be coming to join our family once he is old enough. Breeder is happy to hang on to him if lockdown is extended ?

    KC registered?

So for the first time in 15 years, 3 years after my lovely old lab passed away, I am finding myself in the position to offer a new home to a lovely pup. I've been looking through adverts today for puppies for sale and some are coming up saying not KC registered. How important is it to make sure...

Clap for the NHS and animals

We don't clap, weve got a very nervous cat and rabbit (both rescues) who are noise reactive so I have to spend the time making sure they are safe. I think once was a nice gesture but not every week and certainly not the level of noise that comes with it. People on my street have started shaming...

    Eventing Eventing kit

Yes if you've got the room at home you can measure the distance and to find the speed you need to cover the distance in the time allowed for your level, the speeds are in the BE rulebook. However, its important to remember that the rhythm is more important at the lower levels, it's not really...

    Eventing Eventing kit

Hey, eventing has a never ending list of kit that you "could" have, it's just about working out what is necessary for you and your horse. You don't need a stop watch at lower levels, a good strong canter will get most horses round within the optimum time. I have an optimum time stop watch which...

Would I get what I'm looking for with this budget?

Thank you, both of these look nice types I love the look of the grey mare. I am of course willing to travel. I am also willing to look at dealers. I have a very experienced friend and yard owner that I can take with me to viewings
