I remember how much worse it was after they repaired it - a 2, maybe a 3/10 before but a good 8-9/10 after 🙈
It will get better. Don’t overdo things and listen to your physio when you start weight-bearing.
Years ago… came off and landed on my feet.
I was on crutches for 3 months. Think I got back on around 5 months post-op but didn’t ride properly until around 7 months. The only issue I have is when it’s really cold as the metalwork is close to the surface. It’s been fine otherwise.
My biggest...
Jack had a successful outing today.
A new venue for him and a bit further afield but he was a superstar and did two solid tests for 1st OA/1st silver and 2nd OA/1st silver.
Very pleased that we managed to replicate our elementary score from the other week - it’s confirmed that we’re not just...
Very late to the party but Jack went to our favourite local venue for a bash at E4 on Sunday.
It was hot but thankfully not horrendously so and he coped pretty well considering he’s not the best traveller on a good day.
The first halt went pear-shaped (got a well-deserved 4 for that) but he...
He’s still living at the cattery and I’ve actually seen him around the yard a couple of times over the last week or so.
He looks good so was obviously the right decision to let him move on.
Dually for loading - it’s the only thing that stops my bolshy bad loader from getting away from me if he’s being an idiot.
And if he’s likely to try running at you, carry a stick so you can place him where you want him.
I also had to get a behaviourist to help me with mine. Best thing I’ve...
We have some of the jumps pictured. They’re not particularly heavy, just a little awkward (the chess set - the standard wings are easy to move two at a time) so I tend to cheat and pop them on the tractor forks to move them 😬
We have a variety - some plain, some scary. Planks, flags, water...
Could, as you say, be lack of balance in the corners. My big, lanky horse used the be the same when he was coming back after injury.
Always worth getting them checked if you’re worried. Then you at least know it’s just lack of strength/balance
We hosted a flatwork clinic for one of the local riding clubs yesterday afternoon so took the opportunity to have a quick run-through of our test with Scott ahead of today’s outing.
Really pleased with how Jack felt given that he was very stuck in his neck at the beginning of the session...
I have a new horse 🙂
He arrived on Wednesday and so far, he’s been super chilled so planning to get on board today - need to check the saddle I have on trial fits so two birds, one stone and all that … It looks pretty good girthed up so 🤞🏻
Jack had a lesson yesterday and is really starting...
I fractured my tibial plateau and tore ligaments after bailing and landing on my feet. I had plates and pins put in to stabilise it.
I got back on after 4 months but couldn’t really do anything except walk, and getting off was interesting… 😅
It was about 7 months before I could trot properly...
Went to view a horse Thursday and vetting has been confirmed for this afternoon 🤞🏻
Could really do with some good news as the last few weeks have been a bit rubbish - losing Blue, Cas having his KS op and needing a lot more done than expected (6 dsp instead of the 2 we expected)…
Need to try...
We made it to our area festival. Jack travelled surprisingly well but went very spooky on me - can’t blame him as we were on just as the worst of the weather hit.
I thought we’d blown it as had a massive spook in the medium walk so was very surprised to see we’d scored 69.67%.
We finished in...
