    Bit Less Bridle

Thanks for the answers. I agree it is nice to see a RS who care so much about their horses. They also say on their web site not to bother asking to buy their horses as they are all part of the family. I think I will go and visit the RS and explain my situation. I am sure if they are good...

    Bit Less Bridle

Hello I have had a break of 15 years since riding but want to have some refresher lessons and hacks. The RS I am considering using has some of their horses and ponies in bit-less bridles. I have never ridden in one before and wondered what is the main difference? Am I right to say steering is...

    I WANT THIS PONY!!!!

I was just browsing and came across this wee fella. http://www.horsemart.co.uk/AdvertRef/HM7...HorseDetail.asp He is the spit of the pony I used to ride - except bit bigger and it looks like some one has tipped brown pain over him. I'm a bit big for him at 5 foot 7 (prob just as well) and...

    Why trot??

I haven't ridden for 15 years but am guessing it's a couple of things. Trotting builds up different muscels which are useful for jumping - possibibly. And yes the balance. I was learning about the horse being 'on the right leg' and how to change 'leg' - I think trotting is useful for this...

    Canter help

We used to use washing up liquid on Trigger's (12.2h Welshie) tale with a a very good rinse afterwards. It prob wasn't a v good idea but did get the stains out.

    Dealer Question

[ QUOTE ] I agree that not all dealers are bad, my friend got a tb from a local dealer, he turned out to be not as described, so she returned him for another horse which was loads better. Try taking horse on loan first [/ QUOTE ] I'd be worried if I loaned a horse I'd fall in love and never...

    Dealer Question

Thanks for the information. Am presuming if the Warmbreeds don’t hack out very well then they also won’t be good for doing XC on either? That’s probably my long term goal. What about size as well. I’m 5 foot 7 and my weight has never pushed 11 stone – more around the 10 stone. Would I get...

    Dealer Question

Thanks fot the kind words. I had considered an Arab & may have found a arab share if I can do the travelling. The horse is only 6 and was broken late so am a wee bit nervous after a long break from riding. The arabs are quite fine horses and I prefair something a bit heavier. Maybe an...
