Before you start bitting up try doing proper lateral training with your horse to get her soft and listening.

Not a stupid question at all, it really depends on the horse but being shown in hand and staying calm is a good place to be starting from and should give you the confidence to show ridden. Basicallly if you stay calm and relaxed then the horse should also.

Love it , totally agree. Just as long as you can handle the foal enough to accesss any medical or farrier problems otherwise leave the thing alone and let it be a baby !!:D
