    Thanks for the info Rachio. He is now on rifampicin and zithromax. Initially when we thought fracture, he was on gentomycin and lupin over the weekend. I am actually living abroad and hes in Ireland.. so am just communicating with my vet by phone. Everything seemed to have been going so well.

    My four day foal was three legged lame. We immediately suspected a fracture. On xray, it looked like a hairline of the fibula which was reasonably good. Two days later.. still crippled.     I have to say I agree with Merry Path. The marketing of Irish horses is terrible. It is really hard to get good pictures of stallions standing in Ireland, never mind videos.     Thanks for your feedback. Just a bit nervous using the stallion again (luz) if he does really pass on the trait. Its hard to know if it is just rumours or really the case. We have a 3 year old pony who does suffer from it and she is miserable when the midges are out even with fly rugs, masks...

    My mare has just produced a lovely colt foal by a warmblood stallion standing in Ireland. Has anyone heard that some warmblood foals have a higher tendency to develop sweet itch.
