Well if it comes out like this I’ll be pleased! Although I’d be genuinely happy with just plain bay.
Started to see lots of little kicks/flutters just in front of her teats over the last few days, day 207 today 🥰
Edited as managed to upload a pic of both mare and stallion.
199 days today!
It might sound odd but after all the trouble getting her pregnant, I’m sort of apprehensive about truly believing she is actually in foal 😅
Time will tell for sure I guess but she is starting to look rather round in the belly and has some behaviour changes that would indicate...
Thank you all so much for the helpful suggestions - taking a good look at everything tonight and will contact Simon in the morning.
He’s definitely much perkier today, although his naked chest makes him look like a plucked chicken! 😅
What’s come off is pretty gross, but his actual skin isn’t...
My poor Appy boy Ben has been having a really tough time of it over the Xmas period and I’m looking for suggestions to help give him a boost/support his immune system.
After 14 years of only minor health issues, he really went all in and a week before Xmas suffered an awful colic/getting cast...
Got these last week and can highly recommend. Great quality, stylish, super warm, water resistant. Only thing I will say is they are maybe a touch long for me (short legs) but not the the point where they don’t fit...
We had a 67 day scan a while ago and although it showed a definitely pregnant uterus, baby had dropped below the pelvic brim so couldn't see it. After all the trouble I had last year and the many attempts this year I won’t get too excited until it’s actually here but all looking good otherwise...
Haflingers are actually all chestnut - they have pangare which makes them a lighter shade similar to palomino, but as the breed doesn’t have the cream gene you would never produce a palomino from one.
ETA I quite like haflingers and share my yard with a livery that breeds them, but would never...
Bay or chestnut going grey from the foal pic.
No roan sorry - a true roan will keep a darker face, tail and legs (points).
Grey will develop a grey face and tail as classic signs, before ending up entirely white or fleabitten over time.
Very pretty pony - just hope you like bathing 😅
Sorry to be that person but is he tied to the gate or the post in that pic?
Just that I saw a horrific accident where a horse pulled back hard when tied to a gate, the string didn’t break and the gate ended up round the horse’s legs with a bad outcome.
You’re probably fine and I’m being overly...
Oh no sorry to hear this 🙁 Fingers crossed that either the rescan shows something or you manage another go 🤞
Thanks thats kind to say - it should pretty if nothing by else 🤣
No grass here North Essex. Fine for the lami prone one but not ideal for the others :(
Feeding copious amounts of hay and barley straw in the field to keep some fibre going through them.
Winter fields have been rested since 1st March and not looking great either.
