Hi, does anyone have any experience of horse shopping in Ireland please? We're thinking of taking a trip over in September/ October but have no clue where to start? I know there's agents/ dealers but is there anywhere specific we should head to? Thanks
Thanks... We went to the Lincolnshire Show today and was bowled over by the ridden I.D. classes. We've been looking at I.D. for a while but it's really made up our minds.. Are they always grey? As there was a couple of bays/ chestnuts. Any ideas on breeders?
As the title describes.... I'm currently looking into possibly getting an I.D. for myself and my husband to share. I've been used to thoroughbreds so don't know anything about the breed, their temperament, health problems, etc... Photos would be nice too 😊
Hi I'm organizing a charity dressage competition for the end of next month. If anyone has had experience in organizing who have used for event insurance please? Do I go for someone like Lycetts who deals with the equestrian industry or can I use an event insurance company like Graham Sykes? Help...
OP by pelvis out do you mean it had become unlevel? My mare has had a problem with her pelvis with dropping and becoming unlevel several times over the last time. I can always tell as she starts to nod slightly. As others have said I always give her 24 - 48 hours off after a chiropractor...
Has anyone heard of the Magellan Foal rebirthing technique? A friend of the family witnessed it with a 'dumb' newborn in the week.
Would love a little more info about it.
Would definitely get your physio to check him over. My mare started to buck when going into canter and lose a leg behind. Had the vet and physio out and she'd pulled her thoracic and paraspinal muscles, we're currently on week 3 of a 6 - 8 week ground work plan- no ridden work at the moment...
Hi welcome to the county 😊
Vet - Tower Equine - free call out on certain days of the week
Farrier - John Heald - very good and comes out quickly for lost shoes, etc
Dentist - James Arkley - fabulous and is very patient
I know I shouldn't but for anyone who competes in dressage I...
My horse stands still but as soon as my bum is in the saddle we're off. She does play a little game though, stands at the mounting block, I climb the mounting block then she takes 2 steps backwards to check for treats in my pockets - no treats given, I get down move her or the block, get back on...
Have you thought about joining a local Slimming World or Weightwatchers club or you can join online, I know how difficult it is to lose weight and I've always struggled but since Christmas I've been determined to lose weight, not just for me but to make it easier for my horse to carry me - she's...
I had mine gifted to me after 2 years of loaning, she's now 12.
She's a sensitive type and hots up at the drop of a hat and we've had several scary moments, although now she's older she seems a lot happier and chilled. She loves her work, especially poles and jumping and we do low level...
