Thanks for all the replies, it would just be for one horse and one shortish journey (to vet hosp and back) I think we will stick with the transporter ... I've asked the vet to include her weight from the weighbridge on the discharge sheet so will let you know the discrepancy!
Around 750kg, I'd discounted it out as a no-no before but was looking at transporting 2 at the time, we're probably better looking at a 7.5t aren't we? (thankyou for helping :))
I've got an 11 year old Oriental, he's just been diagnosed with Lymphoma, it reminded me that he isn't a kitten anymore - you would think he was looks and temperament wise!
I'm really sad about this too, I thought they were one of the good guys! agreed about the profit thing, they usually sell horses around the 2k mark, making I presume around £500-£1k 'profit' (I know they bring them on, assess and tidy up but these costs could be absorbed by the company/the girl...
My advice would be make sure you take your jewellery off first! I thought my Pandora bracelet, wedding & engagement rings would never recover, I had to soak them in bicarbonate of soda for an hour and they're still not quite as sparkly :/ xx
