…. and how useful was it.
Looking at my mossy poached fields, I think they need attention in the Spring, overseeding, fertilising, etc.
Was it worth the investment and does it help you understand what minerals may be lacking in the grazed horses diet?
And could you get hold of the right...
I honestly don’t know if you will like my reply, but I had a very similar horse. All I wanted was a happy horse who would go out to shows, do little dressage tests, maybe go out on hacks with friends etc.
However, I kept getting endless issues, lameness, ulcers, really hating travelling however...
Ok, it’s going to get warmer in 2 weeks time. From then on till the end of the year the weather is going to be bang on average and only ever rain overnight.
Absolutely, so might as well have an inspiring forecast as any forecast is going to be wrong!
February is always the month I dream about giving up and living in a flat in town (near a great coffee shop). Just hang on to the fact better times are coming.
It does help if you can get your routine, however cumbersome, to an almost automatic state. Happy or calm music on EarPods can help!
To the first I would make some comment along the lines of
‘Not as offensive as the sh*t that comes out of your mouth’. (In my head if not out loud).
The second I would say ‘thank you’. I think it is good to be aware of circumstances (low bright sunlight) which make you less visible despite...
I use a combination of shires hoof boots, but woof wear medical boots are also pretty amazing after the abscess has bust and you can get away with minimal poultice.

Loved all the fabulous posts of horses who were loved and respected just for who they are.
This one particularly was fun - I love it when we allow horses to be, well a horse and enjoy their personalities and quirks. Thank you, it makes me think the world has lots of good people in it!
I agree, it’s seems to be used by people who want you to know what a great rider they are as they can ride a Spicy horse.
To me though, it means not very well trained?
I have a rising 30yo Irish Draught 16hh horse, I have owned since she was 6yo (or more accurately, she has owned me for those 24 years). Very bright, very opinionated and totally adored. Not ridden, but still happy and looks good. Apart from occasional absesses, her only known health issue is...
Plan C. Lots of yards in beautiful places and great hacking do holiday livery. Find yards that will let you come for a week or two. You may even find one you like that will do hacking schooling, ie they ride out with you, but on your terms!
Sometimes I wonder whether it’s the fact you notice that is the reason you feel bad luck.
For example, some people’s horses get sarcoids or asthma or ulcers or whatever and the rider doesn’t take a blind bit of notice just carries on until the horse dumps them (from pain) once too many times...
