I Just wanted to send more good vibes for lovely Bertie. Its horrible watching our beloved animals decline. I do hope he gathers strength in the next few days.
One of ours had a stone bruise 18 mths ago. He was dragging his toe and then went dog lame at one point. I was amazed when the vet said it was down to stepping on a stone in the field. We had to put him in a boot, with stable rest and it took several weeks for him to recover.
Do you have alternative livery options to consider? Could your boy cope with a move if given a period of calmers to help his stress? Just a couple of things to think about.
I hope your talk with the vet is helpful. Its is such a tough call to make.
It didnt make any difference for us when he had stifles done so we took him barefoot and used boots when needed, paid for lots of myofascia work, good supplements with collegen and 6 years on he is brilliant.
I wish it had worked but vet said its a difficult joint to medicate.
Hi,
Looking at a horsey holiday for 2 people with our 4 legged friends, but we may need to take dogs with us.
Looking for lots of off road hacking. Ideally no more than 3 hours from Kings Lynn.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Much as I love my youngest, there are times when I would be sorely tempted. He can be a pain in the rear end and upset the dynamic between the two girls for some time. He is a feisty bugger, but cute. I love him best when he is asleep ! But then I think all my three are slightly wrong in the head.
I have a high plastic one due to my spinal issues. Similar to the ones the RDA use. If you Google they will come up on line.
The 3 step ones are usually good though if you are 5.4"" and over .
I would definitely go for one with experience under his/ her belt. My Highland showed artgritis around 11 but with treatments and good management he is now 18 and having a whole new lease of life. Not that I would ever sell him, but he is so safe, fun and well trained if I was looking to buy and...
