That must have been a really tough decision. I think I need more information to fully understand how easily I'll be able to keep her. I have spoken to two people who are managing it fine though and I completely agree with one of the earlier posts- where there's a will there's a way!
thank you all so much for your replies! i've messaged a couple of you and you've been so helpful!
Thanks for the forcesequine link too!
I'm going to do some more research and then make an appointment to go and talk to someone in the careers office :)
Is anyone in the Royal Navy and have their own horse? I wanted to ask as it's a career I'm considering (spent 3 years in URNU- university RN unit) but would still want to keep my horse so wanted to know if anyone else had experience combining the two and how well it worked for you?
Thanks :)
I'm 23 and have had my horse since I was 15. My parents paid for her up until I finished University in June and I now pay for everything. She's on full livery and I live at home in SE London, so livery is ridiculously expensive. I don't have a clue when I will be able to move out as I simply...

If you do replace your hat after a fall, would you also replace it if you dropped it on concrete from a reasonable height?
I've spoken to my previous farrier and the guy who has just shod her (although, obviously don't give his opinion much weight), and they have both said that for now it's better to keep her shod but keep a close eye on her.
Before this she could cope with backs off but not completely barefoot...

I've recently moved from Sheffield to SE London and have had to find a new farrier.
I have owned my horse since she was 4, and she is now 13. During this time she has never been lame and with the exception of 3 occasions, has been shod by the same guy up in Sheffield since she was 9.
One...
