    No Pups

On the last occasion she was mated 3 times over 6 days but the owner of the stud said it was "a bit of a struggle", so we had our doubts from the start.

    Dalmatians

Hi, We used to have a Dalmatian, the main problem was that she would moult all year round. Short white hairs stuck to everything. A neighbour has got one and he steals food off the worktops and can open the fridge door (to get more food)! The dog is also deaf so you will need to watch out for...

    No Pups

Hi Everyone, We have had our 3 year old bitch mated twice by different dogs from the same reputable kennel but she has failed to get pregnant. We paid a stud fee for the first mating, there was no charge for the second one. As we would really like her to have pups, has anyone any suggestions...

    BARKSTOP ULTRASONIC DOG TRAINER

I've seen the above product advertised on one of the shopping channels. It apparently emits a sonic sound when the dog barks which it doesn't like. Eventually the dog learns that no bark means no sound. Has anyone ever purchased one of these gadgets and, if so, was it a success?

    Cyclic Alopecia

Many thanks for the advice. A couple of questions for you :- How often does the condition occur, yearly or whenever? Is it inherited from the parents or does it just appear on an ad-hoc basis? Best Regards

    Cyclic Alopecia

My dog has been diagnosed with Cyclic Alopecia and looks a bit of a mess, resembling an old worn out rug. The vet says there is no treatment for it and that new hair will start to grow. Does anyone know how long it is likely to take?

Help!! How to tell pups apart.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I found that vegetable dye placed stratigically did the trick, although it had to be topped up a few times. Once piece of advice I received from another breeder was that she doesn't allow prospective owners to choose their pup. Instead she assesses the...

Help!! How to tell pups apart.

Hi Everyone, We have 9 Airedale pups (2 boys and 7 girls) who are 4 weeks old. New owners are now visiting us to select their pups. The boys are easy to tell apart but the girls look very alike. We've tried nail varnish on their ears, which they lick off. We've also tried to clip their fur, but...

    Clipping?

Get some clippers from Argos (less than £25) and have a go yourself. Might not look as good at first but after a week it will settle down and look OK. It will save you a fortune. P.S. Might take you a couple of tries to perfect the cut.

PUPS - SLOW TO LAP MILK

Thanks for the advice. Good News - they are now lapping merrily away. I added Ready Brek to the milk and it did the trick.
