No hope of dunking his leg. He occasionally will sit on the side of the bath when I have one, and dunk a toe in very tentatively but otherwise he's very much typical cat who won't go near water.
I did some cooked boiled salt water and did some soggy cotton pads and got it roughly near his sore...
I clipped his claws not so long ago and it was fine then, I'm not sure when he's managed it, tbh he climbs up and off things all the time so I'm slightly unsurprised 🫣
It's obviously sore because he cries if I try and touch it to get a better look 🥺 But it's not hot and he's not lame on it.

Do you know anyone on yard 2 who can tell you who often 'stabled in bad weather's actually is. I'm not sure I like the thought of a youngster being stuck in for weeks on end any more than I like the thought of a youngster being on their own. Nor do I like the thought of when it gets to next year...
Could you take a big bale of someone would deliver one of those? Or split a delivery with someone else on your yard?
I previously managed to fit 2 bales of shavings into a 2 seater convertible. You'll either need to accept your car will forever more have hay everywhere or wrap it up well if...
This one is sad and quite distressing tbh. I've never seen the page before, it just popped up in my feed. I'm so glad there's people that do this but it's so sad it's needed, the poor horse.

Also in tech here, although not in a technical role. If you can specialise in a particular area (Salesforce, AI, cyber are probably the current big ones, or finance would be a less technical specialisation as an example) that helps.
I work for a charity so don't get paid industry standard but...
I feel like wet Novembers and mild December's have become more of the norm, traditionally with colder weather after Christmas, although I'd say recent years its stayed quite mild still.
We've had some cold weather here (Lincolnshire) which has been quite a change from the endless rain.
I'd...
I've come across similar once, it was winter and the horse was kept in a lot. As far as I'm aware it improved with turnout. Not sure if that applies for yours but thought I'd throw it out there
I'm not local but I have a small pony who is street smart, he knows to get out of the way. A savvy smaller pony and careful introductions might open up more options. I've had two small ponies as field shares before and it worked well.
I have to admit, I thought the £90 OOH fees for the recent colic actually wasn't too bad, especially considering it was 10pm on a Sunday night.
I do agree with a poster upthread though about timings with the horse appointments.
I totally understand them wanting to minimise travel for efficiency...
For my cats payment is required straight after the appointment and they don't take direct payment from insurers. They are very clear and upfront about this when you register and from memory I'm sure they also have signs in the surgery to this effect too.
For my ponies any routine visit is paid...
My vets charge £30 per prescription, and are an independent practice so drugs from them are expensive as they don't get the discounts larger chain vets do. I worm twice a year and fec in between but for 2 horses that would be £120 a year, so I really hope it doesn't come over here.
Edit - my 2...
