Indigo Irish Draughts - please read, a heads up.

The point is, Janet George would be extremely unhappy with what has happened to her horses and there were apparently alternatives offered. Whether she should or shouldn't have done this or that is irrelevant. The welfare of her horses was paramount to her & I hope to hear that some have found...

    Loosing hope with Section D

We have a Sec D x Arab. Mostly Sec D. I'm used to TBs but the Sec D is far, far more sensitive than my TBs. We've been through similar issues. It's always something pain related with ours. E.g. he put on a bit of weight and started bucking and dropping his shoulder. Had saddle checked by a v...

    SACKED

I must correct myself. Not anyone. Apparently it's alright to breach certain standards if you're a member of the Government. I don't condone what she did, and I wouldn't want her teaching my children (there is no place in education`for people with violent tempers). However, I don't agree with...

    SACKED

What she did brought the education trust which owns her school, and the school itself, into disrepute. I've know people sacked for less. It's all about reputation in education regardless of the child protection consequences. Anyone outed in the media as an abuser of animals is going to struggle...

    Awkward pony?

My daughter's 11. The pony is 6. She isn't hugely experienced, but has been having lessons for about three years, and had a lead rein pony before this one. We loaned the pony for a year before buying him, and we've had him nearly 2 years. Thinking about it, he didn't behave like this initially...

    Awkward pony?

This is a really good idea, thank you. Other than lunging him (supervised), and carrot stretches (does that count?) she does very little ground work with him.

    Awkward pony?

We've tried this & she was able to get him going fine. He also goes forward for me, mostly. But both of us are strong riders and he does it out of necessity rather than willingness! He often puts a good few bucks in, which he doesn't do with my daughter. But I avoid riding him unless absolutely...

    Awkward pony?

Thank you - this is much appreciated :)

    Awkward pony?

Yes, he does both absolutely perfectly. It's one of the reasons we love him so much.

    Awkward pony?

Surface is sand and carpet fibre and it could do with being levelled, but I don't think it's deep. He also does it on other surfaces, but I suppose that could be out of habit...

    Awkward pony?

He does go being led, sometimes reluctantly. I have suggested ulcers to the vet, but she is quite confident that he doesn't present as having ulcers. I haven't written off scoping him yet though...

    Awkward pony?

Yes, I agree he probably could be school sour. She isn't in the habit of it. Indeed I have taken her stick away on the two/ three occasions it has happened and she is well aware it isn't the right way forward. It was desperation, hence my post on here for opinions other than the many...

    Awkward pony?

I also thought that when I answered! He does like me walking next to him, and he seems to take confidence from it.

    Awkward pony?

That's really interesting, thank you. He improves drastically after a good, long warm up.

    Awkward pony?

This would make sense, but I know his full history and he's been quite a decent show pony since 3/4 yrs then we took him (I don't think he as very good under saddle, but he was super in hand)
