I always have a neck strap on the babies or the sharp ones (or any horse without a mane!), but it depends on the horse as to how I use it. Most it just sits there for emergencies however on one horse I ride I have a pretty loose one that allows me to hold it as you would with two reins whilst...
I used HandH's photo uploader since I have long forgotten my log in details to photobucket. Turns out I had the album set to private...oops!
Thank you again for all your lovely comments. I cant promise our next event at Whitfield will be quite as successful, but I'm sure I will have some...
Well it really was as ridiculous as it sounds. I had just finished putting the horses to bed after a days hunting. It was dark, cold and raining and as I turned to walk back down the ramp having just emptied a barrow of freshly skipped out poo I felt my feet go from underneath me. Not wanting to...
...Sorry guys, there's no amusing booby stories in this one ;)
It would seem I had forgotten, alongside a multitude of other semi-important things, to offer a sacrificial lamb to whichever divine entity was in charge of last weekend's weather. Two weeks, we had two whole weeks of wall to wall...
I try not to go further than 3 1/2 hours to an event If I am on my own. Im also entered for Munstead and hoping to get in! Fingers crossed for you too.
Hi,

Agree with others, all very well trainer saying your horse needs to be X, Y and Z but if they're not giving you suitable exercises to help achieve this then you're not going to advance.
I event my boy barefoot without any issues thus far, and we have run in all conditions. The only time I have had to be careful on the turns was when there was heavy dew laying on hard ground though the studded horses were slipping too. He originally used to event with studs but sustained a...
Thank you everyone. I'm still smiling even after two weeks :)
showpony, he is by Crossdrum Spurs, probably out of a random gypsy type mare. He was bred in Ireland so quite possible!
Only 15 days late! In my defense I have been waiting for the photos to arrive - which btw I have permission to use ;)
I have to admit on the eve of Pulborough BE I was really hoping for a text to say the event had been abandoned. Why? Well firstly the weather had been and was fairly crap...
A friend of mine has a treadmill at her stud. She loves it and all the horses and ponies use it without issue although the only downside is you have to stay with them whilst they are on it, so not like a walker where you can leave them to it whilst go off and muck out.
