So I swapped over - most are still out at night two are out in the day. But what I’ve found is that the two out in the day come in about 3 and the others don’t go out til 4.30 which means mine is on his own til then and he doesn’t like being on his own so not sure whether to swap back 🙄
Selling my Bateson Derby - serviced every year and last service was last month a few weeks ago new ply floor added. Had zero interest - be interested to know what these trailers are going for. I looked at others for sale and priced it similarly but nothing. Currently on fb sites and marketplace...
Are they still popular now the rules have changed on towing ie no test required??
I've just had mine (2004) serviced and had a new phenolic ply floor put in two weeks ago. I was going to keep in in case I got another horse (current boy semi retired so I have barely used it this past year) but...
Ouch that doesn’t sound great! I was hoping for not too far from the beach, or even Dartmoor, and at the least some decent fields to go for a blast in??
Just been contacted about a job in the area. Not sure if I’ll consider it as would probably mean relocation. My boy is 24 as well.
Just wondering what livery is like there, ideally small quiet yard but he has been on every type of yard going, we just hack now though so places to hack v...
Blimey do you all own your own land? Somewhat envious. At livery we have no say and therefore they are in a lot and I am knackered going up several times a day to get him out of stable. Not much choice where we are so next year might be retirement livery
Well that recent storm has just about finished the paddocks off. They’d barely recovered from the last one. Too wet and slippy to torn out I’m going up several times a day to let him roll in school and hand walk down the hard surface track trying to manage this at different times when others...
Thanks for sharing your stories in particular interesting to hear from those who had adopted, I found that useful. I think I’d be in a very different place if I had not had multiple miscarriages - in effect it is a form of disenfranchised grief and I am hoping to raise awareness of this - for...
Bit of a non horse topic, although I’ve had my boy ( Welshie) 17 years, he’s 24 now. He is my rock but worried I’ll just be lost without him. Tried for kids didn’t happen, now too old. Just wondering for those who wanted them but it didn’t happen how you moved to a path of acceptance - some...
I had to get a different farrier in the end so I could ride this week. I just got the bill from the other for 100 so that’s 140 on shoes this week. My farrier said on Sunday he’d come out today but then never got back to me - I got someone else out on Tuesday. I think I’ll try the new one...
It was the same hoof but his hoof is good no cracks and none of the other shoes have come off but that one twice in two weeks (one after two days) Had to get another farrier to put it back on so managed to do Xmas ride today
