Hi guys,
I'm very new to this saddle fitting business. I'm looking at getting a Wintec dressage saddle (interchangeable gullet) for my porky connie.
Before I buy one, try it and get the saddler to come out to fit it, please can someone tell me what part of my pony I need to measure to...
I've tried several things with my stiff hocked pony. The best I've found is Tumeric (with pepper and micronized linseed as mentioned above) and magnetic hock boots.
The combination of the 2 have done wonders for him. As much turnout as possible and also a proper warm up when riding has helped...
In my opinion, you cannot beat the Rambo Horseware double bond fleeces. They are expensive but AMAZING! Dries my boy off in half hour, keeps him sooo warm when he's clipped, its cosy, doesn't rub, makes an excellent exercise fleece to wrap around you too when riding in the cold. It's my go-to...
Hiya,
My horse went suddenly hopping lame a couple of weeks ago with no obvious cause at all! Vet came, sedated him and literally inspected him head to toe. Eventually, after skinning all 4 legs, we found the worlds SMALLEST cut right under his fetlock (on the joint, in the feathers)...
Wow. What an amazing turn around!! My boy isn't lame with his stiff hocks yet but he never will be if I start using them now!
Thank you for the feed back
It's so nice to hear that the majority are in the 'leave alone' party! This makes me feel a lot better about the fact that I haven't really been doing anything to my pony's feet!
He's on a balancer and micronized linseed with as little sugar as possible - this diet is working so well for him...
Hi all,
It's that time again when fields are getting muddy and horses are potentially standing round in puddles for a while (not mine because he's too busy eating to ever be by the gate)
I was just interested to know, what is everyone's daily hoof care routine for this time of year? My...
Hi guys,
Does anyone use Magnetic boots (hocks particularly) purely for stiffness?
I know they're great for swelling etc, and have heard some fantastic reviews about them stopping fat legs on box rest blah blah
My boy has very slight stiffness in his hocks - has been checked by vets, vet is...
Dear all,
Coming into winter, I usually make all my feeds and haynets in advance on a Sunday for the week. Obviously long evenings in the dark and cold, I like to have as much riding time as possible.
However, I now have a horse that cannot have hay, only haylage. I know that haylage...
