We are on a farm with a few other liveries. Loads of turnout compared to your average yard. Can go for days without seeing anyone but we have a little WhatsApp group to keep in touch. It’s lovely and quiet and the horses seem so settled
I’ve just had the vet out as my boy started coughing. Apparently there are quite a few dry coughs around this year as the ground has been so dry. I’ve been soaking any hay and feeding it off the dry ground which seems to have helped. See what the vet says, hopefully nothing major
I’ve worked hard on this and have done it slowly by taking the last horse away to the gate then returning it and making the gap longer each time. My youngster is now fine left alone. I normally open the fence for a bit more grass for him to keep him occupied
Mine are generally settled in or out but one they are out for spring they very rarely come in. Plus as mentioned above one of mine has a bit of cough so would be better out.
not sure why I’m so undecided ?♀️ it’s the first bad weather in absolutely ages so not used to it lol

We are diy (farm basically) and never had any restrictions. They did all get turned out 24/7 as the pandemic started and we’ve just kept our distance. There are only a handful of us so it’s worked fine.

the more I think about it, the more it’s about a lack of motivation rather than anything else. I’ve clearly not adapted well to having my normal routine removed. I used to ride after work at...
Thank you everyone. I feel like I’ve become so lazy but I think I’m just mentally tired from having the kids around constantly. I flit between thinking a set routine would be good for me right now to just turning them away and reassessing in the autumn. Every day I change my mind!!
One of my horses is a youngster but he is already turned away so that doesn’t bother me so much right now although it would be nice to get some groundwork in place but that can wait I suppose. My ridden one would be fine being turned away, I think I’m just struggling with the lack of routine, I...
