I had a Renault Master, infact i still have it for sale, but i'm waiting til spring to sell it. I bought a 7.5ton lorry in the summer as now my daughter is competing more we need more room for storage and sleeping. I loved it, my horse is a 16hh welsh cob and he fitted in mine fine (It had the...
If you can i'd wait. I put mine up for sale september and had only 2 phone calls from horsemart, both wanting to know if it would take 2 17hh+ horses. I was going to try on horse and hound, but now the battery is flat, so i think i'll wait til spring, re MOT it and sell it then.
What a question ! When i was 19yrs old my little pony got colic and i was given the option of pts or the op. She was 17yrs old and at the time my world fell to pieces, she wasn't insured, but i had some money that i had saved for a car. I had about an hour to decide and just couldn't pts...
I always ride two abreast for a number of reasons, 1- my horse is better riding nearer the traffic as he spooks at things in the bushes, 2 - i usually have my daughter with me on her young pony, and 3- we ride down a national speed limit road and over a motorway bridge and given the chance...
I've had my horse since 3yrs and to be honest if he was the way he is now I think he would have scared me. Not because he is nasty but just because he has a typical welsh attitude.
The thing is if you can bond with them early on and get to understand them, then when they hit the stroppy teen...
Well i could list the times i've fallen off my horse but I won't bore you. BUT as for my daughter, i lost count years ago. Let's just say she won the pony club camp splat board as she fell off 5 times 3 of them in the same lesson.
Poor child, good job she's tough. I must admit it's not her...
It depends on your reason for loaning. I'd be worried that the owner wants someone else to do all the work and then will sell the horse on.
Obviously this is well within the owner's rights, but some people may be wary.
All the coloured horses seem to be at least 1k to 2k dearer than others of the same type. I'd love to know if any of them actually sell at those prices.
We used to have someone at our yard who was convinced her horses were worth a fortune and insured them as such, but when it actually came to...
I went to my yard late today to let my horses out and found 4 youths in the field. As soon as they saw me they jumped out over the hedge and hide in the field next door. I was on my own with my daughter but didn't want to leave the field whilst they were in the next field.
I called the yard...
I don't think people do, when I was looking at horses a few years ago everything was smaller than advertised.
People always seemed shocked when I say my horse is 16hh, they think he's much bigger, although I havn't measured him since last year and he may have grown a bit.
I think £4,500 is very expensive for such a young horse (unless she's really talented), especially if you are unable to show her off to her full potential.
If your paying £400 a month livery i'd be inclined to send her to a decent dealer who will be able to school her and sell her on. I paid...
