Loan with view to buy/Trial??? Best place to find one?

Yep tell me about it. My mum loaned her welsh D when pregnant. Cracking and well behaved mare... Worst thing ever yet we thought we'd found a perfect loan home so after that, decided to never do it again. no matter how perfect a horse was, still wouldn't consider letting him/her go out on...

Loan with view to buy/Trial??? Best place to find one?

Would never usually consider loaning a horse with view to buy, or trial. Nor would I think about asking such a question... But do not trust anyone atm selling horses after bad experiences (not a behavioural issue, just soundness) I feel I don't dare buy anything without a trial/loan first...

Do I put him down or attempt loaning???

OP, please think about this, as it is not the time to be rational! I am in the exact same position with my mare. I have been trying to find research, as my mare’s arthritic changes (bone spavin/osteoarthritis) is also caused by a bone cyst… But it is a risk I am willing to take with...

    bone spavin - treatment

Thanks for replies. I worry if I get the operation done though, it won't be great news due to her bone cyst still being present? Aghh horses!!!!!! Too much heartache that's for sure.

    bone spavin - treatment

Sorry may be an essay with terrible spelling as I am on my phone. Basically, have a 6yo ex racer. She raced 4 times as a 2yo, 2 years off and been bought back into work and retrained just before christmas. She started to drag her near hind toe last week and x-rays show a bone cyst in one of...

Hock lameness - bone cyst and arthritic changes

Hi, researched as much as I can but firstly wondering what's a recommended joint supplement and must be competition legal? My mare was dragging her near hind toe a week ago on Monday so got the vet out and she had x-rays to show a bone cyst in her hock joint which has caused arthritic change...

Not horses sorry but urgent question on deformed duckling???

Hi, Before I went out on a hack I went to check on the duckling and it had it's neck bent right backwards, causing the back of the duckling to almost fold backwards like a hinge so he was on his side. The head was shaking/waving around so I picked him up and he just couldn't straighten himself...

Not horses sorry but urgent question on deformed duckling???

Just found something. It is called stargazing, so will see how the duckling is over next couple of days and told them to get some minerals but if it doesn't improve the little fella will have to have what's best done by him. Thanks for advice

I'm not 100% sure it's the foot causing the problem as it is only slightly crumpled at the side? Who knows :S

Not horses sorry but urgent question on deformed duckling???

Hi my partners little brother keeps ducks and chickens to sell eggs. He has recently hatched some and one of the ducks has a slightly crumpled looking foot and although I can’t see a physical deformity in it’s back, the duckling is constantly looking up and falling backwards, especially when...

Trailer/lorry hire - Barley, Royston, Hertfordshire.

Hi sorry to bother everyone but urgently needing either a trailer dropping off this evening and picking up tomorrow afternoon/evening (would pay for your time and fuel in dropping off and picking up along with hire). Or someone with a lorry that are local and willing to leave tomorrow...

    Very tearful day :'(

Thanks ever so much everyone. I guess I'm expecting the worst as it's been such a setback. But in reality, she may well and truly be able to go on fine. Just thankful I didn't take advice when the farrier said she 'may have just tweaked something bolting around in the field' as the vet said this...
