I had this thought a few years ago.
what I decided to do was reduce my horses value to pretty much nothing then max him out on vet fees. This therefore reduces your premium but keeps you safe should you need vet cover
Like the others have said you need to get your local registered saddle fitter out. you will find your nearest one at http://www.mastersaddlers.co.uk/ this is the society of master saddlers web site.
It is quite common when horses begin to loose their winter coat that small patches (rubs)...
this kind of happened to me. Put my horse on loan for a year while i was away and I gave the loanee the months notice like we had agreeded in the contract and when it came to me coming to collect him she either didnt answer her phone or kept putting it off. I eventually went to her yard while...
my horse has two passports. He came over from Belgium with his passport that shows he is registered with the stud book, its got his pink papers etc in it but it did not have the section about human consumption. when I phoned DEFRA to ask what I should do ( when the whole passport think in the uk...
when i was at a yard they had a pretty good ragwort managemnt but as ever one pony decided to have a munch on some that we were trying to eradicate. He ended up being poisoned and he now suffers from photosensitivity - light allergy and cant be turned out on sunny days as he just burns...
make sure ur girth is tight firstly. if still moving, get saddler back out. They should be able to see if the pony has one shoulder slightly bigger than the other or if it is the ponies movement that is making the saddle slide. A balance strap can be attached to help prevent saddle sliding. Also...
when I was learning to ride as all horses were limited to 2hrs per day so in all they could be used in two lessons each day. it was very very rare that a horse/pony did back to back lessons as they tried to let the horse/pony have at least an hours break b4 its next lesson.
me too, think it is a silly thing to go. I leave my top door open when i am towing empty to try and save on some fuel as there is less resistance but never with my horse in it
i made up my own loan agreement. It said that they were in charge of the daily care of my horse and I listed what in my opinion was good daily care ie fed, groomed, water, provided with shelter, make sure no lumps or bumps etc. Then I stated that they were also incharge of the health and...
if its almost brand new then i would contact the manufacturer as they should be able to fix it under the warranty. if it is an older saddle then its prob not worth replacing the tree as it is a big job. hope this helps
