Please excuse the rambling message!! So a couple of weeks ago my boy and I headed for our first ever outing together and the worst thing happened...on the way home my car broke down on the m40 luckily I managed to get it going again and get us to a village away from the busy lorrys passing...

At the moment he isn't that lame... Just a tiny bit short in walk and has a slight head nod in trot... I poulticed for 2 days and nothing came out. The whole was left open as the nail was not out back in :) no digital pulse anywhere and only very slight heat...so we think *touch wood* we are out...

How long would you expect the bruising to last for? Would you box rest at all as the ground is hard for me at the moment...? If it was an abscess would he go hopping lame? We have only had him a short time so we are working on improving his feet. He came to us with shoes 3 times too small and...

Should also say he has very flat feet and is an ex race horse!

How long did it take your horse to get over the bail bond in the end? My boy had a nail bind fixed on Thursday and is still lame now.... Not 3 legged lame but uneven when trotting...

Interesting point but I don't think so as he is known to go lame when we don't get him sod soon enough and the heel gets lower to the ground and he then stands on something. If it was the nail I would expect him to go lame after each set of new shoes... Is there anything I can do to his foot...

Thanks for the replies, we do a fair amount of roadwork/cross country so barefoot is out... He has a hoof and calming supplement so that is fine. I have debated if I should change farrier as this is the 2nd shoe to come off in 2months and the 3rd time we have been sore (different feet...) But...

All good replies thanks :) One point the ladies at CAB said that for the first 6 months of ownership it is down to the seller to proove something is in working order, other way round after that... As the axial is attached to the breaks would that be included in the statement about the...

So CAB told me to write an email explaining the situation to the seller and then saying that under the sales act in entitled to a replaced,repair or refund. They said if they don't respond then small claims court...

Agree about the buyer beware but the way it was described to me as because the seller gave a full description such as the brakes are working and it's turned out not the be true she has mis sold it. If she had just said here is a trailer sold as seen with no comment it's my fault..... Apparently...
