The other is an 11hh Dartmoor/shetland cross,skewbald,8 years old,and a darlin'. :3
Im desperately hoping to get another riding horse in the near future, one fairly young that i...

Ive always been a huge Baileys fan, find there products work wonderfully and mine always enjoy them. This winter i was going to invest in No. 14, but being £30 near enough,i glanced around for a cheaper option and stumbled upon Horse and pony direct's low cal balancer. My two chubbie's are doing...
Hay - £3.50 per bale.
Straw - £2.40 per bale.
Quality is excellent - the straw,i have never seen any so clean and fresh - absolutely thrilled this year!
Ive never used anything other than standard necks for my little dartmoor - she doesnt really need a rug anyway...more for my peace of mind. :p
She's got a lovely long thick mane, rain never manages to even reach her neck fluff,so never found it necessary to add a cover.
Nelson's just started...
Fantastic - you've all given me a few thoughts on things to add to my collection!
Im definitely going to have to try that Lynn Russel Stain Remover an all. My mare likes to paint the walls a very horrible colour! :p
Oh my goodness - so pleased to hear you where both alright!
It's a terrifying thought that you cant trust your equipment, even when checked and maintained appropriately. I too am shocked at NS's lack of caring regarding the (and many others so it seems!) incident...i wont be purchasing one for...
Absolutely not for me.
Rode out on a cold winters day (no snow, and no apparent ice on the hack i was going to take),came to some black ice i hadnt seen at a road junction. My poor boy nearly went down on his knee's and i was nearly thrown under a car. He was fantastic and recovered...
Oh thank god! I thought it was just me with a weird addiction! :p

Hi guys,
Just purchasing my first pair of clippers - it will be used only for hogging and removing feathers off my shire x,who has a fairly thick mane.
Im not sure what ones to buy, what the best make is,and obviously ones that can do the job,at a good price! :p
What does everyone else...
Mine always get a hot bran mash with a little bit of honey mixed in - only for Christmas and birthdays - and they absolutely love it!
Ive also got them the seasonal Likits this year, which they shall get on Christmas day. Also getting Nelson some clippers - make him look all fancy! Phoebe's...
My 16.3 shire x eats 3/4 of a bale a night,11hh dartmoor/shetland gets 1-2 slices - so roughly 1 bale a day. Both are out on grass during day,and in at night. :)
When grass is poor,i shall put my big boy back on haylage - 1 small bale of that lasts 2-4 days for him,and then the pony shall...
I loop leg straps - just how i was always told.
I generally use leg straps rather than fillet strings for turnout rugs - unless the rug has come with elasticated straps, then there whizzed off and replaced with fillet. Ive never personally had,or heard of, any issues with either strap method...
