I think that is fairly appalling At the very least a horse's working life will be longer if it is well looked after, so it seems crazy to not consider its well-being follwoing a hard ride

I have to say I am inclined to agree with icestationzebra. Sweating probably doesn't help but your saddle does not fit if it leaves your horse with these sores.
