they are much much easier to get them out of a younger horse, the younger the better! I always advise that they are taken out now after previously leaving them, taking them out in 6 months and seeing a dramatic improvement in the horse's way of going!
stronsholm hoof cushions, we use them on 3 of our 8 horses in the summer, they all welsh cobs funnily enough, absolutely amazing, no thrush with them, no problems about £5 a set and last 3 shoeings.
could be a pollen allergy, we had a horse that did that. We cut his whiskers off and bought a nose net, did help quite a lot! Also make sure his teeth are up to date and that you use a qualified and well trained EDT or Vet.
